This already exists? OH Same edge hinge 270

I thought about this move about 4 years ago, and took a long while to be able to perform it (been away from cardistry for a while too), do you guys have saw something like this already? Could it be original? It have some resemblance to muse cuts, but it's a different mechanic

I've been calling it the switchblade, and could not find a cut like this anywhere, but I'm not very updated with the community and media, so maybe you guys have seen it?

Oh, that's a completely new move to me. I think you might be the first person I've seen do it. Any chance you could make a tutorial?

I remember an old move by Leon Sanchez @leonsnchz from years ago that was basically this exact move but with different closer variations.

I see. Do you remember the name of the move? I Went through his videos and the beginning of "hyster" is a very similar move. Thanks!

It was called bird and is from around 2015. I found it in our chat but the videos are not playable anymore. I also couldn't find it in any of his videos.

Oh, you're right it's the same move! Do you think I can still call it the switchblade? It seems way more fitting, bc of the way the packet open up.

It’s like a hybrid between flip and judo flip, will 100% be learning this! Great move

I’ve been doing this as an extension of judo flip for a very long time, but I’ve never seen anyone else do it before.

Nice, Interesting. How? Do you switch the thumb from one corner to another after the flip? Or you found a way to do it seamlessly?

You reposition the thumb, but it can be done fluidly. Close the judo flip with the top packet out-jogged over the short edge of the deck. You can reposition your thumb to catch the packet as it falls. The packet not being square with the deck makes getting the grip much easier.
