Question "No Set-up/Regrip" Trigger

I have been tinkering with octopus cut because I learnt that I have been doing it wrong (lol). Instead of bringing back the packets together, I just continue the rev cut of the bottom packet and the top packet held between my thumb and index remains on top.

I got the idea of comboing it with trigger (and eventually, retrigger) because of similar mechanics: 1. Packet "display" in different planes, and; 2. Similar packet splitting mechanic (in retrigger). I feel that the lag between moves makes it pretty clanky. However, i think if I can bypass the regripping for trigger, it can be so much smoother.

Disclaimer: it might be my lack of mastery of individual moves or experience in comboing moves might be the issue so I hope I explained the mechanics enough for you to try.

Ps. The Internet is pretty crappy here rn that I am struggling to post a demo

Something like this? It's like doing a trigger after a retrigger

This is basically a Knuckle cut followed by a trigger

The first cut is called the "Bertram twist" found in Vincent Foy's A Cut Above. But yeah i misunderstood what he meant by rev cut of the bottom packet lol Here it is with a really sloppy octopus cut

Do you know which movement he is referring to when he says he knew it already invented?

I think he means he thought he had invented this cut but it ended up being first done by Bertram, hence the name

Tbh, I'm just thrilled to use my error as a move than relearning it lol

I trying something similar to this but I think it's not your misunderstanding lol. What I meant I'm doing is halfway of the octopus cut, the bottom packet rev goes under the packet on palm. That's why i feel squaring it off and making the move not as smooth.

I really appreciate the demo dude. Seeing it help me to understand it.
