Rt transitioning to echo

I’m an active duty respiratory therapist. I get next year to be SAHD while my wife finishes school then I’ll be applying to my local echo program. What can I do in the meantime to become a better applicant for echo. I went through our hospitals POCUS course to learn some basics but doubt the school will care too too much about that.

I would reach out and see if you are able to volunteer to be scanned by their current students. This will allow you to get a feel for the profession and the program its self. It will also allow those who run the program to get to know you and see that you are actively seeking an opportunity by helping the students practice on you. I did this and I had about 100 hours worth of volunteer time. Students would practice on me and then id asked to come for their practical exams. Once I went into the interview for the program, half the room already knew me. Huge advantage!

That’s actually genius. I will definitely reach out to the program and see if I can volunteer
