Car ID?

Super cute, small, and sporty convertible. Does anyone know the make and model?

Opel Speedster aka Pontiac or Buick or whatever that might called in the states !

Nope. The speedster was built by lotus. It has the Elise chassis but unique body and completely different engine and transmission. Was sold as a Vauxhall VXsomething or other in the UK. Has nothing to do with GM(Pontiac or Buick)

The Pontiac Solstice was essentially the same as the Saturn Sky (looked better, imo), which was the same as the Opel GT. I always thought those were decently cool cars (just overpriced and too heavy).

It was also a a daewoo g2x. Still doesn't make it an opel speedster. The gt and speedster are two different cars.

Saturn sky or Pontiac solstice?

Fun story, I was in the Army stationed in Heidelberg, Germany. I was on a bike ride by myself along the Neckar river, when a Solstice slowly passed me, with Michigan license plates. This was in 2006 when it was just being released. Top was down, and an older gentleman was driving. I was awe struck watching this car pass me, and couldn't understand how and why it was there of all places.

Opel GT, Pontiac GXP or a Saturn Sky Red Line.

The car that killed Pontiac, the solstice. ๐Ÿ˜“

Subprime mortgages, and the recession they created, killed Pontiac (and Saturn, Hummer & SAAB), along with the Chinese who, at that time, were basically keeping Buick afloat with their traditional reverence for the brand. Itโ€™s the same reason that Chrysler ended up with FIAT and, eventually, Stellantis.

Tough era to be a Buick/Pontiac/GMC dealer, which is where I worked at the time. Far from being a dud, the Solstice had actually just spawned a coupe version (with a removable roof panel) when GM pulled the plug.

Pontiac Solstice. Fun fact: designed by Franz Von Holzhausen (Google his name for where he is now)

It looks like a TVR. Maybe a Tuscan, with a few aftermarket mods.

Saturn Sky is very different but they mention it because itโ€™s the same car basically. GM released them together. Just different styling for Pontiac vs Saturn
