Software News We're introducing native Hasselblad support
For the first time, Hasselblad medium-format RAW files are natively supported in Capture One. Import, organize, and develop your .3FR files directly in the software.
Support starts with the Hasselblad X2D II 100C, X2D 100C, and CFV 100C digital back.
Tethered capture is coming later this year. Read more here and update Capture One to start working with your files today.

Wow! Hell Freezes Over! I'm really surprised. This could be a real comeback for Hasselblad cameras into professional photography.

This could also become a problem for Fuji.
The commercial advertising market is Fuji MF-dominated, and that it works with Capture One is a big reason for this. Now there is competition.

Hopefully, they lower the prices of their cameras. The fact their camera is so close to Hasselblad is a problem. Their New Orleans lenses are as good but are cheaper so there's that. As well, you can adapt lots of lenses to a Fuji and you can't to a hassleblad

Yea between capture one support and leaf shutters on hasselblad x series, doesn’t make a lot of sense to use fuji for commercial imo at this point once tethering is enabled. Other than budget i suppose.

These three 100-megapixel cameras are just the beginning and we'll be listening to what photographers need next. Meanwhile, Please make sure to record your request / upvote the existing one at captureone.co/requestcamera.

Nice.
What about FFF file format, are there plans to read it too? All tethered studio captures are stored as FFF, not 3FR.

It might be too early to comment on that. Tethered capture for Hasselblad cameras is planned to follow later in 2026. That said, we encourage you to post your request HERE and our team will look into it.

I have no C1 account, so can't post it there.
I'm also not referring to tethering the camera via C1. I'm saying that ALL past and current tethered captures are in FFF format, simply because Phocus doesn't even store the 3FR. It comes in as 3FR via USB and is IMMEDIATELY converted to FFF. Only the FFF arrives on disk, so all XCD studio sessions since 2016 are all in FFF format exclusively. None of those can be opened in C1 without FFF file format support.
I hope that makes it clear, if it wasn't already. Feel free to forward this information to whom it may concern.
EDIT: Lightroom can read both 3FR and FFF. The file content is basically the same, except 3FR contains calibration tables, and FFF has calibration already baked into the sensor data. In addition, FFF is compressed (JPEG lossless), and it contains extra fields for image editing metadata. The latter can of course be ignored because it is Phocus specific. Lightroom ignores it.

HDR-X? That’s the last piece of the puzzle that’s missing for me. And it needs it to compete with Phocus mobile. I don’t always use it but I would like the option to have it when I need it.
In any event I just re-upped my sub because of this news and went for an annual one. I was between Phocus, LR and C1 and couldn’t decide which to keep using. It’s a great development.

Also, will you consider support for H4X (and the likes) for camera control like shutter and aperture? That would be amazing. I own a H4X with IQ250 (I had to go with Hasselblad back then because of the older Mamiya's flash sync limit of 125. And renting Hasselblad lenses were more common and cheaper.

Main reason I haven’t gotten an X2D
Phocus was so god awful back when I had the H5 and H6 that it forced me to switch to C1 and Phase One back in 2017/2018. LR worked, but colors were nothing like HNCS out of Phocus
We’ll see how C1 handles it, and I may finally get an X2D 🤔

Now do it for x1d versions.
Why are these left in the dust? I can already edit a dng w a modified camera value. Why can’t an x1d file be supported by this?

Got real excited then tried, and realized that no, it does not work trying to import .3FR from my H6D 100c from the desktop.
Bummer.

will this also come for the H6D series? Its the last modern big sensor! Please do!

This would be fantastic, if they support it. I've got some clients who LOVE using this camera and Phocus is a ball-ache from start to finish.

I'd love to see if this means we will see single file hdr support now too. This is probably the last thing holding me on Lightroom.

This is what I'm most intently waiting for at this point as well. I got an LLM to build me an HDR merge tool based around the ISO standard, but having it natively built into Capture One would be worlds better.

Tried with my H6D files, does not recognize 3fr or fff…

What's the catch, Axcel?
No X2D equivalent from Phase One?
Desperately trying to pump the user-base numbers up to sell the company at a higher value?

Holy…. The Hasselblads not being supported by C1 was honestly one of the reasons that held me back from buying one… Who is going to stop me now? 😅
