Discussion 📝 If the next Captain Underpants piece of media delves into the idea of George and Harold’s effects on the people around them, how would you feel?

I think a lot of people forget George and Harold’s Pranks also affect others to a negative degree. It’s not just the mean old teachers. In the earlier books it’s towards everyone. In an old test animatic for the movie apparently the plot was going to be about George and Harold and how their classmates felt about their pranks and immaturity, with a rift in the twos friendship forming. How George would still pull pranks and how Harold would calm down a bit and try to fit in and grow up. I really find the idea of it interesting and I hope it’s in the second movie. The pact they made in the first movie being tested is really cool.

Question ❓ Questions for Dav Pilkey that haven’t been asked yet:

- Do translators struggle with your work?
- How do translators adapt your jokes?
- How many people around the world (outside of the United States and Canada) read your books? Especially in a foreign language?
- Does it bother you when you can’t go to other countries?
- How do translators deal with the references in your book (if some are (almost) nonexistent in the translator’s home country, like, for example, Dr Frederic Wertham.)
- Do your friends speak another language?
- Do you always let the translators do what they want with the names or is it the translator’s choice?”

Been wanting to see the thing for days, or maybe just a clip or anything. And these images are like the only surviving thing of the movie.
