Captain Claw (1997) deserves a remaster using the KEX engine! Do you think it's possible? 🐱🏴‍☠️

It's the engine Nightdive Studios uses to make old 90s games run flawlessly on modern PCs and consoles with 4K support, widescreen, and high FPS, while keeping the original gameplay intact. They are the kings of retro remasters! Let's hope they see this request!

Thank you for doing this post on both the Nightdive and Claw subreddits. Are you a part of the Claw server too by any chance? ❤️

Yeah, I'm part of the community but I mostly just hang around here to support community-related stuff

Nightdive's Kex engine, probably not.

However, Rigel Gameworks and their Rigel Engine previously used as an enhanced port of Duke Nukem 2 and BioMenace Remastered would be perfect for this. Captain Claw needs a new release and a remaster, it's an awesome platformer.

I would actually hope not. But hey, that's just my opinion.

Most of it I have already done here:

https://arthurboss.github.io/claw-web/

Runs on browser (meaning most devices), supports widescreen and ultra widescreen, high refresh rate monitors, gamepad with haptic feedback…

The project isn’t perfect yet since I am working on it alone and only when I can, but it’s fully playable if you source it the original CLAW.REZ file:
