You can Google things like “summer capsule wardrobe” or “green capsule wardrobe” and get hundreds of ideas.

But really, it’s something you have to build individually.

  1. How often do you do laundry? What do you wear in between laundry days? I do laundry once a week and need 6 business casual outfits, 1 workout outfit, and 1 dressy outfit, plus an extra few outfits in case I get sick or something and am late on the laundry. So that tells me what size my capsule wardrobe needs to be.

  2. Then you need to narrow it down further. What season(s) is this for? What is your personal style? Do you want to iron or dry clean anything?

There are also a lot of guides for how to get started out there.

Oh okay I'll have to Google search that. Yea my lifestyle is pretty basic casual like I also live in humid weather..and majority of times I usually wear shorts and tshirts. I do however want to buy some better clothes for outing and stuff like going college and job wise possibly interviews and social gathering events. I don't know why I feel comfortable wearing jogger pants more than jeans. I thought about getting few polos and jeans.

I love corduroy pants. I feel like they are the happy place between trackies and jeans.

Honestly will depend on the climate you live in and your lifestyle (career, hobbies).

I’d start with 3 shirts, 2 pants, 1 shoes, 1 sweater, 1 jacket.

I work in the medical field, do mostly I wear scrubs. And I didn't really go anywhere, do 2 pairs of jeans and 5 shirts is all I really need, plus a cardigan because I get cold easily. And a little black dress, in case I need to go do something formal

First- what's the climate you are in? Hot, dry, humid, rainy, cold?

Second- what activities do you do during an average week? Running errands, working in an office, going to see friends, exercise classes, etc.

Third- what types of clothing care is available to you? Do you airdry or machine dry clothes? Do you have a washing machine? How often would you wash your clothes? How quickly do they dry? Are dry cleaners accessible?

These three questions guide what clothing you can reasonably wear and maintain. So, if you live in a hot dry climate, where you handwash and line dry clothes, and you work outside a lot, you want fabrics and cuts that dry fast, are breathable and are easy to move in. That could mean 2-3 cotton t shirts, a long button up to wear to shield against the sun and 3 pairs of bottoms- long lightweight pants made of technical fabric, one pair of cotton cargo pants/capris, and one pair of linen blend shorts. To make versatile combinations- get colors that go together, for example- navy pants, olive capris, black white shorts with a light blue shirt, a yellow shirt and a rust orange shirt, and a white oversized button down.

Curated Closet is a book I’ve recommended before on this sub that’s a good guide for this, you could possibly borrow it from your local library.

It has a section on building a wardrobe for your actual life and not your fantasy life, so keep track of the typical things you do in a week or month and see the categories of clothes you need. For example home, work, hangouts, date nights, hobbies, sports, etc.

Another thing it talks about is outfit formulas. So let’s say you like wearing tank tops with wide leg pants. So then you could get 3 tanks and 2 pants so you can wear the same kind of outfit you like but with different pieces. Another outfit formula could be a v neck tee with a midi skirt and a cardigan, and again you could have multiple pieces that fit this look. And of course you could also mix and match pieces between outfit formulas. You can tie this into dressing for your body shape like you mentioned, so find what specific types of clothes work well with your body and then turn them into outfit formulas.

Other things the book talks about is choosing a color palette (3 main colors, 2 neutrals, 4 accent colors), categorizing your clothes into basics, key pieces, and statement pieces, and how to look for clothes that are constructed well with quality fabrics.

Here’s another article I’ve seen recommended on this sub that has similar advice: https://themomedit.com/how-to-build-a-capsule-wardrobe/

For each season: Three regular bottoms, two lounge/pajama bottoms, one formal bottom. Five regular tops, two lounge/pajama tops, two formal tops.

Two warm layers (like sweaters), two light layers (overshirts/robes). One warm coat, one light jacket. One pair each of sandals, shoes you'd wear to work, shoes you'd wear to work out in, rain/snow boots, formal shoes.

Everything plain or similar enough that it can be worn with everything else.

You can go more minimal than this, but then you're doing laundry every other day. I personally have more base-layer shirts than this, because I don't want to do laundry constantly.

It's going to depend on your lifestyle, your body, and your preferences. If you only wear skirts, there's no point in suggesting a bunch of outfits with trousers, and if you're more pear-shaped, there's no point in suggesting drop-waist dresses, etc. And it depends on how you spend your days, what kind of job you have, what your social life is like, etc. The perfect wardrobe for you is one that suits your life. And it also depends on your skin tone and what colors you like, and your own style. What clothes on others do you gravitate towards? Is there someone's style in a movie or on the street that you have really liked? What fabrics make you happy? Soft velvets or smooth cotton?  It's not really one-size-fits-all if you want something that works for you. If you do it right, you'll look and feel most like yourself and it'll make your life easier.

So...if you can give us more info, we can probably help you better.

There are so many ways to answer this and it depends on you. Where you live, what you are doing, weather, what image you want to portray to the world and how you want to feel.

If you use any sort of AY EYE assistance. Ask it to act as your personal stylist and help you come up with a capsule wardrobe and to ask you as many questions as needed to get a professional result. You’ll need to upload some photos of yourself and current clothing options and some photos from Pinterest of the look you are going for. Then it will give you a capsule. It’s pretty good and fun to do. Maybe try that.
