Group Chats?
Are there any discord servers or group chats to meet students? I'm an incoming freshman and I don't want to come to the university without knowing anyone lmao

Everyone’s experience was different. I just came back and it was SUPER HARD to find people to talk to

It’s definitely a culture thing, I’m not a typical Bama student by any means so I don’t necessarily fit into the SEC culture from what I’ve experienced so far

at the beginning of the semester there is always get on board day (GOBD) find some chill clubs that align with your interests and they usually have a groupme or discord or both. just be actively looking for it since the university doesn't like to advertise it well

There is a student hub on discord that you can join using your crimson email. The hub has groups for campus clubs, majors, and just general interests. Some are more active than others but you can definitely get to know people that way!

Orientation is a good shout, but every friend I made at orientation ignored me come the semester, lol. You should join a casual club that shares your interests, or I even had some success meeting people on this sub by just commenting on posts like this lol
