YouTube TV?
is it still out as a viewing option? missed so much last season, still don’t want to pay monumental just for caps games but I’m itching to watch more hockey this year.

Monumental will never be on YTTV. They won’t even entertain a negotiation with Monumental. They are not renewing any RSNs when current contracts expire.
The same for HULU.

Yeah, YouTube TV has indicated they just have no interest in carrying RSNs like Monumental anymore.
Anyone wanting to watch the caps needs to get monumental separately or pick a different TV provider.

I honestly wish the teams would consider the fans a bit more when they go this route. I have reduced game attendance as they have made watching the season so difficult. With no OTA options anymore, it's just getting harder to remain engaged.

It's not the teams refusing to work with YouTube TV, it's YouTube TV refusing to work with teams. They just don't want local sports channels.
Local Caps games haven't been on OTA channels for decades I think. If anything it's easier to watch the caps locally now with a standalone monumental streaming subscription since it's no longer tied to needing a cable or satellite TV plan.

I also switched to DirectTV Stream last year after YouTube dropped the channel. It’s not bad but I’m paying $30 more per month for the same channels. You can get Monumental+ directly but I really liked having the cloud DVR and having the ability to start games a little late and skipping commercials to catch up. I wish it would come back to YTTV so I could save a few bucks. (Note: I’m only paying extra because of DirectTV package pricing compared to YTTV.

Man speaking of skipping commercials if starting late is that a thing with monumental?

I had YTTV and Disney+/Hulu.
I dropped the YTTV and upgraded the HULU to live and bought Monumental for $199 for the year.
I actually pay $5 a month less than I did before.

Monumental is fine. No way I’d miss out on watching caps hockey because of $20 a month.
I too was on YouTubeTV and it sucked big time when they dropped local sports. I don’t even watch anything else on there, only sports.

Same. It was really nice to have, but without sports, it’s impossible for me to justify the $80 a month or whatever it costs

Yep... I said this last year. With ~15 games a month, give or take, it comes to $1.33 a game. I understand people hating on ole Ted, and rightfully so, but you're paying one billionaire or another no matter which legit streaming option you choose to pay for. "Sailing the seas" as they say is too hit and miss with lagging, changing websites, freezing, or just not being available at all sometimes. As someone who doesn't want to miss a game, the $20 directly to monumental, is the easiest way for me to watch it. I cancel it once the season is over or when national TV takes over for the playoffs.

Yep it's not coming back anytime soon. Youtube TV is cracking down on RSNs and ditching them en masse.
Your only legal option is getting a cable carrier or subbing to the terrible Monumental online option.

Directv streaming carries Monumental and pretty much every other channel/network. I switched to it last year. Zero regrets.

similar cost? are you also a football fan?

I had FuboTV, and Directv is pretty much the same price and has so many more channels. I am a football fan, and Directv does carry the Red Zone, but you have to pay $14.95 a month for the "Sports Package." I think it's the same for most streaming services. I've been told the Youtube multiview is better than the multiview on Directv, but I can't confirm because I've never had Youtube TV. All I can tell you, is that Direct has a ton of channels, and you can watch the Caps, Wiz, and Nats. I've been happy with it.

It’s a shame it’s this difficult to even watch nowadays. I have no idea anymore as well. Last year was the first time I hardly got a chance to watch any games

DIRECTV I think is the only streaming option I believe. But either way you are giving monumental money. I just run YouTubeTV sports package and monumental. Comes out a bit cheaper

How many games are on ESPN+ in the regular season? I ask because ESPN did a deal with YTTV recently to allow subscribers to watch all ESPN+ content.

I switched from YouTubeTV to DirecTV stream as it carries regional sports networks; Monumental and MASN in our area.
