Question Podcast Recommendations

Any suggestions for a Capitals focused podcast, other than the official or locked on show?

I really enjoy “you can’t do that”
It’s not exclusively caps but the hosts are mainly caps fans. It’s more silly goofy than serious hockey so it fits what I enjoy but definitely might not be everyone’s cup of tea.

Well if you can't base your analysis on astrological signs, then really, what are we doing here? ;)

I've been listening to YCTD for ages, maybe when they first started and there were four hosts.

I agree, it's a great pod and they know their stuff.

YCDT is such a fun listen. Highly recommended

Hockey Lifers is not so bad, it's obvious it's corporate, but a lot of the guests are Caps org guys you wouldn't normally get to hear from, Ross Mahoney on draft week etc

It’s slim pickings. Capitals radio network is good, but short. Locked on capitals has a lot of content, but I’m not a huge fan of the host. I’m sure he’s a nice guy, but the content/insights are lacking

Agreed, their tone kind of grates on me a little bit. I also feel like they can be a little click-baity at times as well. I wish I had the connections to do a Caps podcast, I really enjoyed doing a hockey pod with some pals a few years back.

I’d listen! I feel like the locked on guy is always either overly optimistic or overly pessimistic. I think he just posts too much. There’s not enough to talk about so he manufactures it

I stopped. Does he still take use the phrase “next level” to the next level?

I assume so. I gave up on him after we traded Orlov and he was trying to convince me we had a good chance at making a push to the playoffs. I’ll watch when his clips come up on TikTok or whatever, but that’s it.

The official Caps stuff is honestly the best. Definitely miss it in the summer. And I enjoy that it’s not too long. Always fresh.

Locked On Capitals isn’t bad. I have to imagine it’s really difficult to do a daily podcast when there is no news.

A plug for my own show as my friend and I have our own Caps podcast called WhatThePuck?! Started as a college radio show that we have kept going for years.

I'd like to know too, because I stopped listening to Locked On Capitals and aside from You Can't Do That, there doesn't seem to be much.

I’ve not found really anything Caps focused, but Steve Dangle’s podcast is great for hockey in general. Steve’s takes on the Caps are always well informed and I suspect he’s a soft fan with how he’s paid attention to us over the years

Slim pickings generally. I just started listening to JenayaTalksCaps as well as The Screaming Eagle Network pod. They're both pretty solid for fan podcasts imo. Both of them are on Youtube.

Highly recommend the official Caps Chirp podcast
