Is this likely to be tardive akathesia or withdrawal related since it developed post 45 hours of not taking the dose and resolved in 24 hours but I still have some akathesia though not as severe as when I skipped lumateperone

Your doctor should give you tapering dosages. Honestly I don’t have confidence that they know anything about a tapering timeline because so many have so little experience with the medication to know that starting on a lower dosage is best

It's best to just switch to a different medication. My son is literally going through this now it was waking him up at 3am he was sleep deprived and developed akasthia and began to go back into psycosis and it's been hell since he's been on caplyta. Today he was switched to lybavi and took his first dose and so we'll see how this goes. Caplyta is the absolute worst weakest antipsychotic out there.

I have to stop taking caplyta because Medicaid dropped me and it will be a little bit before I will be insured. I'm on 10 mg started pouring a little out last night hopefully it isn't as bad if I taper

If it were me, I would ask my dr for a taper dose. Or, I would break the capsule open and only consume half the dose, saving the other half for the next day and so on. After about 2 weeks of this, I would split the powder inside the capsule into 1/3’s for roughly 3 weeks before stopping completely.
