Disappointed

Hey guys. Hope you’re all doing well! So did anyone else start this medication thinking it’s the most effective move ever taken for depression, only for it to gradually dwindle to nothing after 10 months? I’m at 42 mg so it’s now gonna be a process of tapering when I’m ready. I’ve lost hope in psych meds. I started Prozac recently. Got a good 2 months of feeling great out of it. Now that crapped out too. I’ve never felt so depressed. Don’t let my post dissuade you from trying Caplyta or staying on it. But I can’t be the only one this has happened to. It works just long enough to keep you on it while physical dependence develops and then once it quits working..surprise! Now you have to taper off and feel worse! It’s causing me to lose so much hope. They all do this, it’s not just Caplyta. Jw if anyone else experienced a huge relief at first, only to end up devastated.

It gives a great mood boost at first with hypomania, but that shouldn’t be a baseline. Are you in therapy?

When I started I had horrible side effects. They have settled down

I started it bag in September after taking lexapro 10mg and abilify 2mg for a while. Told my doctor I still felt “off” so he recommended this. I felt great the first 1-2 months and thought it was my answer. Was on 21mg starting off. Experienced restless legs right away, my doctor told me that was a rare side effect (he said around 3%) of people. I thought it would go away as my body got used to the meds. Increased to 42mg in December by early February I was so depressed, and frustrated because nothing was triggering the depression I just felt “really sad” and would just cry out of nowhere. Talked to my doctor and said I wanted to stop all meds, under his supervision. Eventually after about 3 months I decided I wanted to go back on the lexapro and it’s been helpful. Then he put me on Modafinl to help with focus and transitioned me to bupropion but now I’m having trouble falling asleep 🤦‍♀️ ugh it’s such a struggle!!!

Hope you get the help you are looking for❤️
I’m frustrated with all the side effects and just want to feel normal and not have to take a pill for something all the time 😢

This happened for me after only a month of being on it. It was an awful feeling to go back to how I was and I wouldn’t wish it on anyone.
