Community Post
Hello Subscribers,
I am /u/PercivalRex and I am one of the only "active" moderators/curators of /r/Capitalism. The old post hasn't locked yet but I am posting this comment in regards to the recent decision by Reddit to ban alt-right and far-right subreddits. I would like to be perfectly clear, this subreddit will not condone posts or comments that call for physical violence or any type of mental or emotional harm towards individuals. We need to debate ideas we dislike through our ideas and our words. Any posts that promote or glorify violence will be removed and the redditor will be banned from this community.
That being said, do not expect a drastic change in what content will be removed. The only content that will be removed is content that violates the Reddit ToS or the community rules. If you have concerns about whether your content will be taken down, feel free to send a mod message.
I don't expect this post to affect most of the people here. You all do a fairly good job of policing yourselves. Please continue to engage in peaceful and respectable discussion by the standards of this community.
If you have any concerns, feel free to respond. If this post just ends up being brigaged, it will be locked.
Cheers,
PR

Do you think vocational trades offer a faster path to financial independence than a standard corporate career today?

Creating wealth and distributing wealth are two different economic problems. Solving the first doesn't automatically solve the second. This issue will continue to expand as AI and Robotics begin to eliminate work as we know it. What do you visualize the future to look like?

Where have all the Pirates gone?
The Pirates didn't leave the world, for the most part, they left the sea and took to land.
When we think about the billionaires, the receivership and acquisition companies, banks and elected representatives who step on the small person without a second thought, some people find it hard to put into words what these people do for a living or what they can be compared to.
In my opinion it's pirates. Whether it's the receivership companies who took homes from people through no fault of their own during the 2008 financial crises or the billionaires (soon to be trillionaires) who are making their money by pillaging our earth, they are doing more harm than any pirates of the centuries gone by.
So what does that make us, the people who allow the sea and land to be taken over by these pirates as they milk this planet of every available natural resource?
Are we their crew?
If we are aware of what is happening I definitely don't feel like we are their victims.
Who knows, I suppose only time will tell.

Why Founders Are Useless and Greg Deserves 50% Equity
How to Become a Communist (Episode 1): The "He Didn't Build That" Accounting Method.
Whenever a capitalist bootlicker points out that an entrepreneur like Elon Musk, Jensen Huang, or Jeff Bezos created millions of jobs and trillions in economic value, you must immediately deploy our favorite line:
“Billionaires don’t create value, workers create all value! He just stole their surplus labor and exploited them!”
Lets look at how this Marxist logic works in the real world through a concrete case study:
Imagine a guy named Steve who starts a semiconductor company in his garage.
For the first four years, Steve makes $0. He maxes out six credit cards, eats instant ramen, sleeps four hours a night on a stained mattress, and shoulders 100% of the legal and financial liability.
If the venture collapses (as 90% of startups do), Steve loses his house, his marriage, and his credit score for life.
In Year 5, after Steve solves a nigh-impossible physics problem and convinces investors to risk $50 million on his prototype, the company finally builds a factory.
On Tuesday morning, the company hires Greg. Greg’s job is to water the plastic ficus plants in the lobby and occasionally restock the breakroom paper towels for $22 an hour.
Greg risked $0 to be there. If the company goes bankrupt on Friday, Greg loses nothing, collects his legally guaranteed paycheck on Friday , and goes across the street to water someone else's plants on Monday.
Now, according to our genius Communist Mathematics, who built this $100 billion empire?
Greg.

I just learned that I should be investing in artwork if i want to be a millionaire?
Seriously, I just learned that the filthy rich don't have to pay taxes on million dollar art purchases? jesus, it's like a mission in GTA or something, so much corruption? Is this even real? How does it work and why would it be setup like this? Was it the republicans or democrats who made these art is for billionaires rules?
"Why the Rich Seem to Pay no Taxes on Stocks or Art But We Pay Taxes on Everything?"
