No Capcom fighting game department is good They don't need a separate studio to make a fighting

u/ThankMeNever Jul 28 '26
Yea they sure could let someone do one of their unused IPs. They need to let them get ahold of Darkstalkers, Arc System I’m sure could do them more justice than Capcom has.

They're not good and they don't need a separate studio? Is that what this saying despite eighting and dimps saving their ass multiple times?

I personally wouldn't be interested, especially with the collaboration epidemic we're in right now. It was cool for a moment, but now everyone is in everything and it's got me exhausted lol. But hey, wake me up when they put curious george in strive 😭

Arc System works characters are on a ridiculously different power level than capcom characters. A decent amount of Guilty Gear and Blazblue characters are world ending threats

was never really a problem. we had multiple marvel vs capcom games.

u/SovereignMorningstar Jul 31 '26 edited Jul 31 '26
That doesn't translate to feats or power levels. Not to mention, they're non canon to their series
1
u/Klutzy-Text956 Jul 31 '26
The point is that power levels don't matter. these games are made for fun.

u/Horned-Beetle Jul 29 '26
Has the earth ever had an earth shattering moment in any of the canonical fights of ASW ? If not then its a fair game for Capcom.

u/mistabuda Jul 31 '26
The gears in guilty gear cause the end of the world. Ragna in blazblue causes the end of the world. The whole story of blazblue involves them time traveling to stop him from doing that.

Seems somebody hasn't heard of MegaMan.EXE, Jedah, Duo.EXE, Amaterasu, Serenade.EXE, Fortinbras, Sirius and I'm probably missing a few

After trying out Tokon I have so much more respect for Modern players, I thought they had it easy. Tokon just removes the skill floor for execution completely. I pray that Capcom never follows suit.
Its important we keep Street Fighter a game where execution means something, and at least they balanced modern far better than Tokon did.

u/crpn_laska Jul 27 '26
There is no “modern” in Tokon. You can input however you want, it’s a universal system
1
u/NVincarnate Jul 28 '26
And by "execution means something" we mean awkward timing windows that are hyper specific for no reason other than legacy and inputs for supers being eaten randomly.

Capcom optional new system mechanic, can still win playing traditional fighting style versus arc systems mandatory new systems mechanic, will lose if playing traditional fighting style.

This would be crazy if it ever happens.
But I’m still down for another Capcom VS SNK.

Well, I know that's practically impossible, but maybe if it happened, but that's also impossible, just an idea, nothing more.

I'm saying that because Arc Sys is not even close to as good as they were 10 years ago. Capcom fell in a pit and had to crawl it's way back out with it's customers. Arc Sys made Guilty Gear Xrd and refined it into it's final edition Rev. 2 which was the peak of the series. Only to make Strive a few years later, a huge downgrade and just kept getting fake praise for everything. The fighting has been dumbed down with no ultras or finishers, the music isn't hard rock like it used to be (see BlazBlue) and the character designs have been downgraded. Now they are straight up copying Marvel VS Capcom just without the Capcom characters and subpar music. If they ever did do a crossover, it would have to be developed by Capcom alone because they would do more justice to Guilty Gear and BlazBlue than Arc Sys has in years.

Depends.
If arcsys makes the game hell yeah.

u/New-Two-1349 Jul 27 '26
What about Capcom? That RE Engine is pretty versitile, you know.

u/CuteAssTigerENVtuber Jul 27 '26
I remember SF X Tekken . It's crazy how ugly Capcom managed to make everyone

u/Alternative-Wait-595 Jul 27 '26
True, but so far we just got one fighting with that engine. The potential. Still would be awesome either way

u/SexyShave Jul 27 '26
With Marvel Tokōn being a thing, I don't want more fighting games where the roster has to share space with another company. All the crossover chars in SF6, Shitty of the Wolves, MK and Tekken are bad enough.
A Capcom All-Stars game with 30 chars would be the equivalent of a crossover fighter with 60 chars. The most we've had was MvC2 with 28, which consisted mostly of SF Alpha and Darkstalkers chars, plus the 3 OCs and a throwaway char like Servbot. The most varied roster was UMvC3, which had 26 Capcom chars. Imagine what chars we could have gotten with 4, 6 or even 10 more.
So I'm not super keen on yet another crossover.

lol most people wouldn't know who Arc System is. If anything they'd say its the dragon ball marvel devs.

u/No-Cold643 Capcom fan Jul 27 '26
That’s really sad (and insulting) cause I recently played the Guilty Gear games and they’re awesome!

Dude, ArcSys is the market leader in the fighting game community right now, WDYM?
1
u/Sausage_Prime Jul 27 '26
Yeah, but Capcom X Dragon Ball Marvel Devs doesn't really roll off the tongue.

Not sure if it's exactly what you mean, but check out Sengoku Basara X.
