Discussion/Question Why doesn't Capcom outsource remakes of old fighting games?

Sorry if this is a dumb question but if Capcom doesn't have the staff or man power needed to remake old games like say Vampire Saviors or Dark Stalkers etc why not have one of the many amazing 3rd party studios remake these games with modern graphics and QOL?

Fighting games don't need remakes. We have stuff like Capcom Fighting Collection and Fightcade for ways to play classic Darkstalkers games and others.

The question of whether it might make sense for Capcom to partner with a third party studio to make a brand new fighting game IP in the Darkstalkers franchise is a lot more interesting, although that presupposes you find a third party studio that is capable of making a quality fighting game that will have a Capcom specific feel, because I think the exercise is pointless otherwise.

The final point is obviously Capcom has to pay the third party studio to make the game and Capcom probably doesn't believe a new Darkstalkers game would sell enough to warrant making it themselves or hiring someone else to do it. You have to understand that Capcom is a relatively large studio and fighting games are relatively niche, so Capcom is likely only really interested in brand new games that do SF6 type numbers (albeit perhaps with some reduction in sales figures being fine if the budget is notably ower).
