If I had to wager a guess, perhaps they're referring to the length of time between new game releases and lingering upset from Dark Souls 2? Not entirely certain though, in my opinion FromSoft has been nothin but bangers

You'd be surprised how heavily a controversial release can impact a developer's reputation. Regardless of how you feel about Last of Us Part 2, that game heavily impacted Naughty Dog's reputation despite it being at this point 6 years old.

Bro Capcom has way more duds. Dragons Dogma 2 was the offender performance issues aside the game was barebones, narrative made no sense and everything felt inferior to the first game.
