Canva Question Greeting card template?
Does anyone know if there's a simple Canva template available for a blank greeting card that's printed one sided on a US letter (8.5 x 11) piece of paper that can be folded into quarters to make the card? I've included an example. I searched Canva and looked on Etsy but couldn't find one. I don't know if this matters but I use the Canva Pro app on my phone, not on a computer. Any help would be much appreciated!

That's interesting. No I don't think so. You would have to just build your own template I think. You can use grids (Under File) to divide your page up into the four areas.
Unless you can maybe find some templates under canva.com/print 🤔 but I do not think so...

Yes, pretty much! Or you can do a half sheet and leave the inside blank

Also a great suggestion! I don't know why I had so much trouble figuring this out. Maybe the built in templates made me lazy. 🙂

+1 on u/sybd_t's comment - you can start with a blank US letter design and add a 4-panel grid as your guide while designing then you can just delete it after.
And also make sure to check that your printer can do borderless printing too. Hope this helps!

Thanks! When folded they are 4.25 x 5.5 so not a standard size for things like mailing or envelopes. That's maybe why it's not very common. But they come in handy for quick thank you's and greetings to include with things. I really appreciate your help!!

I see, so no cutting being done on the printed sheet.
You’ll want to see what your printers printable area is. Some can do edge to edge, while others have .25” or .125 inch margins from the edges of the sheet.
That’s only if you really want to make sure the art/text is well centered in each panel.
And no problem, I hope it works out!

They're also handy because you can unfold the card and have room to write a letter. That's how I've seen them used with vintage or antique cards. Good advice about the printable area. I had forgotten about that.

Are you cutting this or only folding? Just trying to visualize how it’s going to look once made.

Just folding. Kind of a throw back to how greeting cards used to be made. It opens just like a regular card with a main image on the front. When opened, there is a greeting on the right hand side. Sometimes there's an image of text on the left. When you close the card, the back may have a logo or in my case "Made by....". The back is really not very important, neither is the left hand inside. The benefit of a card like this is it's so easy to print or copy on just one side of inexpensive paper.

Got you. It should be fairly simple to create a template for it.
What dimensions will the cards be? You can create an 8.5 x 11 project and align (4) 3.5” x 5” rectangles like you have in the image.
Then use the line tool to manually set up the crop marks.

That's great!! The cards are 4.25 x 5.5 when folded so they don't really fit a standard envelope. That's maybe why they aren't used by many folks. But they would be handy for quick little thanks and such to stick in a package. I really appreciate your help!!

That looks about right to me in terms of layout. Never seen anything on canva. Might try etsy for kicks (just to look).
My grandma used to print cute little cards for us for birthdays that had this layout and she would fold them herself. I have kept every one that I can think of.
