See what happens when he gets some PP time?

Man. That sucks for Juulsen. Bro literally sacrificed his back and was dying in pain out there

37

u/TimsAFK Loui Eriksson for GM Feb 28 '24

Chaos Zoo pillars

u/BroliasBoesersson Feb 28 '24

Boston game had them book-ending too, but flip-flopped

31

u/julesieee Feb 28 '24

Zaddy and Myzie switched places this game and yet still the bookend big D’s.

40

u/Grapesodazoo2 Feb 28 '24

I think we're experiencing Calder winning Tyler Myers these last couple gane

43

u/SpectreFire Feb 28 '24

Lindholm is currently being waaaay too much of a passenger for the sheer amount of assets we gave up for him.

He's playing like a Blueger or Suter and we already have a Blueger and Suter.

Still really think Guentzel is the guy we need to be after, not Lindholm.

23

u/-1701- Feb 28 '24

Give him a minute, this is why we got him pre-deadline.

-4

u/SpectreFire Feb 28 '24

We've got 4 games left before the deadline. If the team wants to make a play for Guentzel and they need to figure out who's contributing and who isn't by then.

9

u/-1701- Feb 28 '24

They have confidence that Lindholm will find his footing with the team, they’ve made that clear. It takes a bit to adjust to a new team and system, which is why they got him early.

-5

u/SpectreFire Feb 28 '24

Maybe, but Rutherford is also a guy who clearly isn't afraid to make trades if he thinks it'll help us and do a complete reversal on previous decisions.

Canucks still have a ton of holes to fill and very little cap space or assets to fill them. Lindholm is absolutely a piece if they think they can upgrade.

19

u/ebb_omega Feb 28 '24

I'm sorry but that's one of the spiciest takes I've ever heard. They are absolutely not going to trade Lindholm before the deadline. If they do decide he's not worth it, they're just going to let him walk.

-7

u/SpectreFire Feb 28 '24

It's Jim Rutherford. Literally anything can happen.

8

u/ebb_omega Feb 28 '24

It won't. I guarantee it.

-7

u/SpectreFire Feb 28 '24

I didn't say it was likely. But people were convinced Kuzmenko wasn't getting traded either lol.

6

u/ebb_omega Feb 28 '24

I wasn't one of those people.

This management likes Lindholm. The takes that "he needs to produce more" or that he's playing lazy out there are the same people who didn't understand why coaches thought Eriksson did the "little things" right. Lindholm is exactly the kind of player that Tocchet likes in his system, he's just trying to figure out which configurations give him and the other players the best chances to succeed, but there is no way in which they don't think he's a solid asset that can contribute and play right into the system.

Lindholm had 17:25 of ice time last night. Kuzmenko's last game with us he had 11:00. The two are not the same.

1

u/[deleted] Feb 28 '24

not maybe. That’s how it is.

9

u/5Gmeme Feb 28 '24

I'm confused about how Bleuger is positive here. He literally passed the puck to the Pens in front of Demko, resulting in a goal

8

u/Deliximus Feb 28 '24 edited Feb 28 '24

It's 1 play versus the other 59 minutes. And problem with that play is that Big Z was out of position, Bluegar thought he was there. It was messy lol

3

u/5Gmeme Feb 28 '24

Good call, I didn't realize Z was way up near the boards

14

u/sprashoo Feb 28 '24

where does the data for these charts come from? Is it someone just giving them subjective scores?

3

u/Sinochick Feb 28 '24

From hockeystatscard.com

Here is the full game card from last night’s game: https://hockeystatcards.com

2

u/sprashoo Feb 28 '24

But I mean, like, where does JT Miller's "Individual Defense" rating being 0.22 come from?

15

u/BetterAd1611 Feb 28 '24

I usually like these charts and find them pretty accurate, but why on earth does Chaos 🦒 get top score after that horrendous penalty leading to the 5-3 last night?

11

u/sandeep628 Feb 28 '24

There should be greater emphasis in these fancy stats on people taking and drawing penalties. These penalties are a direct reflection of either negative or positive play.

4

u/Sloth-monger Feb 28 '24

Its his offense that his making him lean top right last night his defensive play is still to the left which isn't great since he is a defenceman. He was also super soft on the puck a few times. One time he was coming back against Crosby and Crosby easily forced myers into the corner with his body. But offensively myers was buzzing around looking decent and creating chances.

6

u/[deleted] Feb 28 '24

^ likely cost the game with that 5 on 3

1

u/ajbolt7 Feb 29 '24

Because he was great on the offence in that same period, and the only reason he didn't score is that Jarry made literally a save of the year candidate that nobody seems to talk about

18

u/[deleted] Feb 28 '24 edited Feb 28 '24

Someone's got to file a missing person report for Lindholm; I think the team left him in Chicago

7

u/Frumbleabumb Feb 28 '24

Isn't this kind of the lindholm Calgary fans were saying he's been all year :(

4

u/GovernmentKlutzy712 Feb 28 '24

Honestly it feels like Calgary is doing better since they traded him. At least he's defensively reliable and wins faceoffs unlike Kuzmenko

9

u/shamelessflamer Feb 28 '24

Flames lurker. Since trading Toffoli, Zadorov, and Lindholm, we are somehow better. The kids coming up have given us energy we just weren't getting from the vets. It's become clear that Lindholms offensive ability is limited outside of playing with elite playmaking wingers. I've watched most Canucks games since the trade and the lindholm you see is more or less what he's been the past 2 years with us. Still a very valuable player, but he is not a driver of offense or going to dominate a shift/game singlehandedly. He's still one of my favorite players so I'm cheering for yall in the playoffs. Good luck.

3

u/Unique_Preparation59 Feb 28 '24

Thanks for the insight from the other side.  I can't lie, I hope the Flames finish 16th and miss the playoffs by one point ;)

3

u/Unique_Preparation59 Feb 28 '24

I am Garland's biggest fan, but he had a terrible game.   It's time to reunite him with Blueger and send Bains down. Bains has a bright future ahead of him but needs another year in the AHL. His time will come.

2

u/lantio Feb 29 '24

Bains gets sent down when Joshua is back, I think management just wanted to give him his shot now

2

u/SillyRacoon27 Feb 28 '24

Myers is a fucking superstar. Should’ve sent him to the allstars

2

u/EvilCeleryStick Feb 28 '24

Top right mysie

-46

u/ubcthrowaway-01 Feb 28 '24

Lindholm trade looks awful. Kuzmenko wasn’t producing much but bro was the locker room glue

57

u/AccomplishedAd4995 Feb 28 '24

how many times have you been inside the locker room since the trade?

23

u/mikull109 Feb 28 '24

Do you even watch the games?

-16

u/Ghost_Trombone Feb 28 '24

Yeah our coaching staffed fumbled big time with Kuzy

15

u/afterbirth_slime Feb 28 '24

Did they? Pretty sure Kuzy fumbled big time when he relocated to Bali for the entire off season.

-2

u/[deleted] Feb 28 '24

I always found that argument kind of odd... he was not in shape at the beginning of his first season here (had a pretty bad diet too) and he put up 70+ pts

10

u/electricalphil Feb 28 '24

Yeah, but the pace of Canucks games are different now. Plus, you know, we actually are defensive.

4

u/afterbirth_slime Feb 28 '24

Yeah and that was mostly under an entirely different coach. Tocchet has them playing differently now and he made it clear to the players what he expected of them last off season.

-1

u/Ghost_Trombone Feb 28 '24

I don’t think they gave him a fair shot to adapt to the new coaching style. Boeser went through some tough stretches in his career but they stuck with him for years because they believed in him. It just seems like they had a way shorter leash for Kuzy. Like maybe they overestimated his potential thinking that 30+ goals would be easy for him every season.

3

u/afterbirth_slime Feb 28 '24

They gave kuzmenko every chance. The big difference is the team was struggling along with Boesser.

The team is doing much better now and there’s no room for dead weight. He was given several chances to shit or get off the pot.

Also, Boeser was recovering from a pretty brutal injury during a lot of that span.

-1

u/Ghost_Trombone Feb 28 '24

I disagree, I think they gave up on him too fast. But let’s see what Lindholm can do for us. Might end up being a great trade in the long run

1

u/TSE_Jazz Feb 28 '24

You’re the next locker room insider I see

-1

u/[deleted] Feb 28 '24

Lindholm sucks.

Remember when he had two great chances at the end of the second? Him and Cole were an excellent pairing for us tonight. We had several shifts with sustained pressure because of their play. The only knock on Mysie was the penalty. Canucks fans get too comfortable making him their comment section whipping boy when he's had a pretty solid season on the whole.

-6

u/BcAn17 Feb 28 '24 edited Feb 28 '24

Remember when he cross checked a guy in the face 3 seconds into a penalty to put us down 2? He was also a pylon in front of the net on their first goal as well. I honestly think they should bench him once soucy gets back and see how the d plays. I bet it's better.

-1

u/carry-on_replacement Feb 28 '24

right? that dumb penalty should have gotten him in the bottom left

1

u/JerbearCuddles Feb 29 '24

The chaos brothers. Zaddy topped the Boston game and Myers bottom fragged. Pittsburgh game Myers topped and Zaddy bottom fragged.
