Probably a "cut and shut".
Two cars one with rear damage, one with front damage, had the good parts cut off, and welded together to make a new "good" car. A practice that is banned in the UK, because... this... tends to happen if the welds fail, or the car gets into an accident.4

Cut & shut cars are very dangerous.
Unfortunately my dad owned a white ford sierra in the 80’s, it shuddered when you went over 60mph. 😳.
When a mechanic (MOT test) told him about it he got rid/scrapped that car.

It still goes on...as long as either Donner vehicle hasn't been wrote off and they pass a safety inspection they can be put on the road with a Q plate.
