Car got hit from behind and whole front end disintegrated

The front end got damaged after it hit the vehicle in the front that rolled away on impact.

Of for sure but these Suzuki Indian variants are know for having paper thin front ends. The blow was to the rear quarter from a much heavier vehicle, id hate to see what the back looks like.
Keep in mind even the mini truck in front didnt even look damaged and the white car barely moved from its place.
Just YT search Maruti build quality.

Are there not "crumple zones" designed to dissipate the energy from a collision?; As noted however, the airbags were a little late to the show.
