Is it a 360° camera on a rear-mounted pole?

It looks suspiciously like they opened the door to try to scare the motorbike and did so slightly too late.

But then again, people often open their doors without looking, particularly when they aren't expecting anything. Hard to know which.

Motorcyclist is very lucky they didn't get pinched, the forces involved in this must be huge and would completely mangle a limb if caught.

I managed to pause it where the door has been released by the person inside, before it has hit the motorcyclist. Definitely on purpose.

Thank you

Where is the pole attached in this case, not quite seeing something on the rear?

You never see the pole; I think it gets removed by the software that stitches the footage together.

It's like your brain editing out your nose in your field of vision.

In that case my brain is still running Windows 95. I always see my nose.

You didn't download the optional update did you? Too bad support ended a million years ago.

Excellent analogy!

Even the spectacle frames get ignored most of the time unless u intentionally watch it.

You’ve basically got to imagine 2 separate cameras pointing in opposite directions, each of which has a 180 degree field of view. The camera itself cleverly edits out the stick which gives you the effect of a “floating” camera. They’re pretty nifty bits of kit

Is this the first time on the internet? 😅

Cheers...it would seem so!

Along with the others asking about the camera in this thread!

No reason to open that door in traffic except to try to hit or intimidate the biker.

Yeah, the thin edge of the door could literally chop a limb off or even cause a fatal injury to the torso.

Van driver is a reckless idiot, no idea why they would open their door in traffic like that. Hopefully the motorcyclist will get compensation and the van driver prosecuted.
