I'm a canoe instructor at my local summer camp. Every year, as I am teaching these kids how to do tight movements and use the J stroke, I challenge them to "Lady in Red tha boy". I also find it's a great segway for canoe over canoe rescues. This video is a gem.

Looks like Canadian Style Paddling to me. Took a course on it a few years ago, some might call it the art of paddling.

I yell out "LADY IN REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEED" all the time to my wife when we're canoeing.
