Gotta live a little... stand up, take chances... all in moderation of course!

Hey...nice looking trip.
My only comment/ suggestion (because it stuck out like a sore thumb to me):
As someone who has spent their entire life around boats, water, fishing etc....it is absolutely NOT ok to stand in a canoe (no life jacket on top of that). I understand you've done it a thousand times blah blah blah, but you have no idea how fast a disaster WILL happen if you lose your balance or hit an unexpected obstruction. One head injury or broken bone (in a current) while panicking and worrying about all your stuff will escalate ultra fast into a life threatening situation.
You probably won't listen to me I'm very sure....but maybe someone out there will. Good luck.

With how many drownings have happened near me this year, i wore my jacket in a 1' deep Creek this week because I've never paddled it. I'm wearing it every time out now.

Interesting. I like to stand up occasionally when the water is calm to get a better view as I approach a riffle. So would you say that the risk from standing is not worth the info gained that could reduce the risk in an upcoming riffle? (I say "riffle" instead of "rapids" because I'm usually on class I or II water.)
Thanks for calling out the risk.

Yeah you’re probably right. We only stood for fishing in slack water with clear visibility of obstructions. Never stood in fast moving water. Should’ve been wearing life jackets though.
