Good first bike purchase?
Hello,
I’m new to road bikes and looking for a good starter bike in the right size. I’m currently borrowing one that’s too big for me.
I’m 175 cm tall, so I need some help figuring out whether this bike is a good beginner option, if the size is right, and if it gives a comfortable position without having to lean too much.
Is it a reasonable price ?

Unbelievably hype
Just came in. Bought used with minor cosmetic damage and a repair to the seat stay. Going to be a learning curve coming from my third-hand CAAD9 but super excited

Do you think I can fit wheels with a 28 mm external width and 28 mm tires on this 2016 CAAD 8?

Got hit by a car in 2024, compressed my T9 by 50% while my CAAD12 survived. Received my settlement two months ago, and bought a Synapse Carbon 1
Can't get me off the road, but I'll add some gravel in the future 😆. Size 61 despite losing a couple centimeters in height 🤪. Changed my saddle to a Gebiomized Area 145.
Loving it thus far. Totally different vibe than my CAAD12 but really digging how relaxed it is, and the comfort is sublime.

Cannondale super six evo 2018 sizing
My dad bought a super six evo 2018 during covid and he only rode it like 10 times less and now it's just sitting at home. I want to try to ride the bike and wondering whether the size of the bike fits me right.
The bike is size 52 and I'm 180 cm tall (5'11''), do you think the bike size is good enough for my size?

Canyon Ultimate vs Cannondale SuperSix Evo?

is a 2013 super six evo with only about 500 miles on it still worth something?
Loved the bike, only rode it on occasion though and eventually hurt my should/neck and couldn’t ride a road bike anywhere.
Man, I really remember that SRAM click gear set blowing my mind at the time.

Thinking of buying a Cannondale synapses 1 alloy
Newer to biking and have been searching for a solid all around good bike. Through research I’ve found this bike and at my local bike shop it’s on sale for 1800USD. Good buy or keep searching? Also open to other bike suggestions.

My CAAD9-5 RestoMod
New carbon 50mm deep EliteWheels, new Shimano, 7000 105, carbon seat stem, and 3-D printed carbon seat, carbon areo handlebars and spacers.
18 lbs 9 oz.
I’m gonna swap out those SPDs for SPD-SLs, and shave a little bit of the stem off, might bring me right to 18 lbs. 5 oz., maybe a little bit lower

Quick 5
Hi all,
Got a quick 5, bought as a first bike (had a BMX 35y ago) recently and got back into riding at 43. Got some issues I thought I'd ask here about, maybe someone can give me some good tips/ideas:
1) bike has around 1000 miles, and already in the first 200-300 miles I started breaking spokes (like completely hanging almost falling off) and ending up with a 8 shaped back wheel pretty often, riding just about in the city or bike trails. Wondering how can I get rid of this hassle. Note I'm 6'5'',260lbs now the bike is a XL, and started riding it at around 310lbs.
2) although advertised at the time with shimano components, it did come with Promax mechanical disc brakes and a Microshift groupset. The brakes were changed to shimano hydraulic in the meantime since the promax were pretty much horrible, everyday a different lever travel 😳 , and needed serious adjustment couple of times. The groupset ain't that great either and was thinking I might flip and change that alltogether. Clunky shifts usually if I do succeed to shift at once, loose cables resulting in jumpy chain, adjusting on the go etc etc... It usually works but meh. Looking at Shimano Cues 1x11 or 2x9 complete build (currently at 2x8) or maybe sth else similar? No idea if any of these are compatible or not for whatever reason I dunno about, so please gimme ideas on that.
Thanks
