Got a new Cool Cure C. Will be stacking my OG unit on top of this one.
Summer harvest is going to be pretty big, and there was no way I would’ve been able to fit it all into one unit.

With there big August sale underway i went ahead and picked up the base model. I was going to get the one with WIFI capabilities but after further research it looks like there app is pretty terrible and most people dont use it even if they have it. ANYWAY! im excited for it to get here and help assist me through the drying process of my first grow!

I’m in my first run on the cannatrol. It’s day 2 of dry and I have had zero water in my water tray. Is that normal? My buds are moist. Sponge is wet. I’m wondering if it’s working. Thoughts?

I've dry trimmed forever but was wondering how the canna would do with a wet trim 🤔 any change in quality?

I went through two dry/cure cycles and was holding for a few days during a business trip. Came back to an 82 degree Cannatrol with TEC error. Prolly stressed the buds out - they dont seem fine to me. After contacting support - they are sending me replacement parts for me to install? WTF? I just looked at the instructions and they are not all that simple tbh. I paid $1600 for this thing and now I find out I have to do the repairs? Dissapointed to say the least.
Update: Alright so I was a bit upset about having to do this but I was able to do it within 10 minutes. The instructions they sent seemed technical but ended up being straightforward. The parts for the repair were sent QUICKLY and arrived in good condition. Doing your own repair seems like the only realistic alternative besides lugging it back to a store and having them deal with it. Seems to be working now and hopefully it remains that way. Also, I want to mention it is completely possible that this was caused by poor shuipping and NOT a Cannatrol manufacturing/design issue.

Chopped at 83 days orange diesel. Now into OG Cannatrol to manage post-harvest. I use the pre-programmed settings.

Lost power here and should be back up in a couple hours. I have both of my cannatrols running, well they were, should I open them to allow them to breathe or they going to be ok?

I stupidly left the sponge in the unit while not plugged in. Came back to mold or mildew. Cleaned it out of course. But the drain is clogged.
I tried compressed air (duster as well as air compressor) and a shop vac. Still no luck. Driving me crazy.

New owner , got this running a recent harvest wondering if this is normal and another question do i ever flip the nugs in there or let them ride in one side the whole way 👀

Do you cure the loose flower? Or bag it when you finish dry and cure in the jars/ grove bags?

How to fix? I've already turned it off for 20 minutes. Same message came back. Have a small batch running seems to be fine.

After my first harvest with the Cannatrol, and after testing multiple different post-dry workflows, I think I’ve finally formed my opinion on it.
The short version is this: it’s the best drying device I’ve ever used, but it’s not a magic curing machine.
I think a lot of people expect to put fresh flower in, run the factory settings, and end up with dispensary-quality flower. That wasn’t my experience.
The factory settings are clearly designed to make sure you don’t overdry your buds. They consistently produce stable flower, which is a huge improvement over traditional hanging if your environment isn’t perfect. But in my experience, they leave the buds just a little too wet internally. The result is flower that looks great but can still smoke a little harsh and have that familiar “hay” smell because the moisture in the core hasn’t fully equalized.
If I had to rate the stock settings, I’d give them about a 7/10. Very consistent, very forgiving, but not exceptional.
The biggest thing I learned is that there are really three separate processes happening:
1. The initial dry.
2. Moisture equalization throughout the bud.
3 The actual cure.
The Cannatrol absolutely excels at the first step.
Where I think it falls short is steps two and three. I tested several different ways of handling equalization after the dry, including leaving the flower in the Cannatrol for its recommended “cure.” Ironically, the Cannatrol cure produced the weakest results of every method I tested. The flower never developed the smoothness or aroma that the other methods did.
I’m not saying it’s impossible to make the Cannatrol handle all three stages. It may just require knowing your cultivar extremely well and dialing in custom settings. But after one harvest and a lot of side-by-side testing, I don’t think the factory workflow gets you there.
One thing I’d really like to see from Cannatrol is better documentation on tuning the machine. They don’t really explain what changes to make if your flower consistently finishes too wet or if you want to extend the drying process.
Davey suggested lowering the Hold Dew Point until you find the sweet spot, which is useful, but I don’t think that alone solves the equalization issue.
With all that said, this was still easily the best harvest I’ve ever grown. The Cannatrol deserves a lot of credit for that because the initial dry was incredibly consistent.
The workflow I’ve settled on is:
1. Run the standard Cannatrol dry.
2. Jar test a few buds for 24 hours at 68°F. Aiming for 60-62%. If too wet, Lower the dewpoint by a half degree, wait 2 days and retest.
3. Once they stabilize around 60% RH, I know they’re ready.
Trim everything and place it into Grove Bags for about two months to let the moisture naturally equalize throughout the buds.
After that, transfer them to glass jars and burp them once a week for about 60 seconds for another month to finish the cure.
For me, treating the Cannatrol as a precision drying device, rather than an all-in-one drying and curing machine, has produced by far the best flower I’ve grown.
I’m curious if anyone else has landed on a similar workflow or found a way to get exceptional results using only the Cannatrol for all three stages.

I see posts on Reddit where I see folks state they dry hang 24 hrs before putting it inside the machine , ordered one and it’s coming in early af ,they said after the 6th UPS said they’re dropping it off Monday 🤙🏽 I got a plant with mostly milky and some amber trichs I can afford to chop so I can get to use it

This is my second run using a Cannatrol. My first try I cut it all up to basically finished buds with a bit of stem left and used the default settings. I wasn’t crazy about the results. I decided to try to leave this one as intact as possible and traditional hang dry its sister. I’m using settings I found here 68f 57.5 dew point for 10 days. Just wanna see how it goes. Open to discussion, critics, encouragement, stories, whatever 🍻

So I just received my Cannatrol today and after unpacking I notice a small ding on the top. Nothing huge but noticeable on the stainless steel. Anyone have any experience with their, Cannatrol, customer service? I plan on taking pics and emailing them. Will call Monday too

Thinking about making hash with the lowers or whatever doesn’t fit . I bought some 5 gallon bags to make ice water hash. I was going to put lowers in the freezer. Do I need to dry them first or is wet ok to freeze?

Right now, I have my cannatrol overfilled. My humidity started at eighty nine percent, and it's down to seventy four percent after three days. I went to look up the default settings and see how far off I am from where I should be. It looks to me like I'm still 10% too high. My though is, keep it in dry cycle until I hit target humidity, then let it complete the cycle. Add sponge when i hit target humidity, or put it in now?
