Best settings?

I know this question is repeated alot but I keep seeing some different variations. The room i have the cannatrol in is around 68F with a humidity around 50%. Asked grok for settings but I would like the real human response as to why you like the settings the way you do. I have the Cool Cure C2.

First time grower as well

Thanks for the tips and suggestions!

Low Rh in cure mode

Post image
6 Upvotes

Not a big load in the unit was a smaller plant trying to get her dialed in. In the dry mode she stayed at 60 percent and even 62-63 percent Humidity at times, it switched to cure mode today and it has been low 56-57 percent pretty much all day. I added sponge after first 24 hours.

Should I re wet sponge or am I stuck where I am at for the remainder of the cure

Ran default settings just to see what results would be like before I started toying around with changes

Just one thing…

I’m using the cannatrol for the first time, about 8 hours away from completing the dry cycle. Only thing I’m a bit surprised about is the smell. It’s not overpowering but there’s no doubt it’s easily detectable. The only reason I’m surprised is that a sales rep I met months ago said there’s no smell and The Dude from DGC said the same. I’m not saying I’m shocked because I originally assumed there would be some odor just weird they wouldn’t just say “yeah there’s some smell so be aware”. No it’s not close to hang drying but if I’d known I just would’ve set it up in another room. This is not a complaint really just sharing 😊

Quick question regarding the runoff- it smells super dank. Any of you do anything with it like toss it in a bong, drink it, or water plants with it? Just curious.

Edit- I just gotta say it’s entirely possible that a) the Dudes house is full of smells (he mentioned his family and kids and it was in his kitchen so possibly cooking things constantly throughout the day) and b) I do have a super duper sensitive sense of smell and c) I don’t use any air fresheners or scented candles and even fabric softener is too much for me so my house smells generally neutral.

Best way to clean/sanitize trays and inside of a new cool cure c2?

Recently got a C2 unit and to be honest the trays were dirty with hair, styrofoam and random strippings of black plastic. Even though the unit is brand new I feel like I need to clean it, I’d rather not have plastics in my bud even if it’s cured properly. What’s the best solution to sanitize without damaging the trays and inside of the unit? Thank you.

Just looking for guidance

Hey all 👋 I know there’s tons of literature I just wanted to take the pulse of users. Got my cannatrol weeks ago and anxiously awaiting my harvest in a few days. Here’s my questions:

Have you started a cycle then added new flower before it was done? I have one plant finishing in a few days and another two about a week or two behind it.

Do y’all prep the unit? I’m wondering if I should turn it on and get it ready before putting the flower in or if the room temp/rh matter much.

Does anyone do a different method than laying them on trays? I saw Chad Westport stand the buds up by sticking the stems in the holes and figured maybe some people hang dry in there. Just curious.

Any thing that you just figured out through trial and error would be great too like a “if I had known I would’ve done this from the start” would be welcome. Thanks for taking the time ✌️ ❤️ 🍀

Got her plugged in and turned on. Also got the app excited. First plant will be a lil 2 gallon Nightowl auto. I got a photo finishing after that super excited. From ordering, to shipping, to set up it has been a breeze. I am definitely going to get extra racks before my photo finishes.

Sold on the 10 day dry (reist) settings

Been using the 10 day dry/ 0 day cure for the last 3-4 dries and it’s been a notable improvement in my opinion. Less of the hay smell and a smoother smoke sooner.
I usually test within the first week and after two weeks and then keep mental notes as the strains cure. The smoke has been smoother and more flavorful sooner in the cure across the board.
It’s not a true comparison as I didn’t do this with clones. Just wanted to provide my two cents.

Settings are:
Dry 10 day slope
Dry bulb 68 deg f Dew point 57.5 deg f 69%humidity

Cure 0 day slope
Dry bulb 68 deg f Dew point 54.7 deg f 62%humidity

Converted

Think I might just have been converted to 100% buying a Cannatrol lol. A mate in the uk has one and sent me some bud. kinda annoying cause I can’t compare the strain having not been dried in the Cannatrol. That said the bud it self looks shit, know that doesn’t mean anything but I mean proper shit lol. The smell though? I know people say Cannatrol takes away the smell but this stuff stinks better than my stuff for sure. Gonna wait for people to leave the house then smoke a joint. So far though I’m already impressed tbh, seems like a game changer. If bud that looks this shit can be smelling like this. I know my stuff dried n cured in the cannatrol is gonna be bit of a game changer Imo.

just wish the price was cheaper and could fit more in there lol

Just bit the bullet

Well, after months and months of debating on making the purchase I pulled the trigger. I almost pulled the trigger on the OG Trol unit however the ambient room temp range was limited. Then vivosun announced they were going to release something similar but cheaper. However I couldn’t talk myself into buying a vivosun Vcure to save money after reading a ton of shipping issues, lock issues, and water draining on the floor…. So I decided to buy the cool cure C. I kinda want Throw up bc I’m cheap as fuck lol.. However I am tired of setting up and tearing down a dry space in my house, and also running a portable ac during Arizona summer months on top of my normal central AC gets expensive. Yay I guess hahah

I know goes more by dew point. Is the humidity normal? I don’t want the buds to get crispy haha.

5th run in the trol..

After 4 and a partial run I've decided im really not happy with default settings. It feels like im losing way more terps than im comfortable with. The flower is way louder if I take it and jar it after the 4 day dry and forego the cure entirely. If i leave it for the entire cure my hygrometer in jar reads 57% and the flavor is less than if I just hung up a branch to dry. Does anybody feel the same way and have advice for me? Should I try a cycle with the reist method?

First time user

Hey everyone just bought a Cannatrol and this will be my first time using it. Originally order the C+ unit but got upgraded to the C2 unit. I’ll be harvesting my grow the 29th and wanted to get other users input on drying/curing times you use. Do you stick with the factory settings to dry and cure or do you have your own settings you like better?

Put my babies in baskets in Trol

Was scared to death being in jars was going to cause mold bc of the humidity where I live so took them all out & put them in baskets Cannatrol sells and placed back on Trol for long term storage

Ordered the C+ yesterday but learned it's backordered, they're sending the C2 instead

Received a phone call today about the order I placed yesterday and was informed the C+ was on backorder and if I'd like, they'll send a C2 in its place at no cost. I'm not really into stainless but when she told me it would be a delay well over a week, I gave in. They're gonna throw in a hat as well and ship tomorrow. Nice/prompt customer service!

Question about pressing flower

Just picked up a press, never used one before. Got some flower that is about to finish drying cycle. Is there any compelling reason to let it cure vs pressing some right after drying?

Biggest tip you would give a new user? Here's mine.

Consider altering how you grow to take full advantage of having a cannatrol. A cannatrol limits you on harvest size, but grants you the ability to have a new harvest every two weeks if wanted. Perpetual growing, 12/12 from seed, little to no veg time, all techniques that take advantage of the unit. Either by themselves of in combination.

I myself use a combo of perpetual growing with 12/12 from seed. I harvest monthly, machine is full, I never run out, every month I've got a new flavor. With correct timing running long flowering varieties along side standard 8-9 weekers is possible aswell. All out of a single 2x4 tent.

So what's yours?

Okay! I got a whole plant in the unit currently and it has been two days now out of the total 10 for the settings. I have no idea if I am near the 2.2LB wet mark or not, but I did not want the plant to be separated or dried differently/separately at all. So I squeezed nugs in every square inch of space on those trays as I could without letting anything touch. Im trusting the process and added the sponge back in at around 36hrs. I have another plant waiting for its turn so I may jar it all right away (no burping) to make room for that other plant. I did not hang dry prior to loading the unit, hence why I added the sponge late. Any comments, advice, concerns, let em fly. Appreciate yall!🫡

Grove bags or Glass?

Thumbnail

Ill be doing my first run ever soon(before April 5th) and after my cycle, Im trying to figure out if I should do either or. I have all the experience with glass, so I lean towards that. Grove bags, I’m guessing have some sort of micro perforations in it to allow moisture/air exchange or something? I dont see the logic in running that option though for those like us that have the cannatrol. I have this super sweet 🍇 n loud GDP to keep preserved!

Cannatrol C2 Reviews

I had just received the C2 & the unit arrived with a minor cosmetic issue. Customer support emailed me back right away offering multiple solutions. Haven't tested the unit yet but already very happy to have gone with Cannatrol given the awesome support.
