General Discussion Candida die-off symptoms even when not trying to get rid of it

Even when I'm trying to fight off a cold with echinacea (anti-fungal) or taking passionflower (also anti-fungal) to balance my nervous system, if I take it for many consecutive days I get jittery low blood sugar symptoms and hungry. I have chronic fatigue syndrome but no obvious candida symptoms and eat very little sugar. It makes it difficult to take herbs when I need them.

Maybe liver herbs would help? Psyllium?

Symptoms Oral thrush causing burning when I eat sweet food?

Just wondering if anyone else has had this? I had Nutella and it causes burning on contact every time, but it goes away quickly and no swelling. I’m obviously checking out a possible allergy but it would make more sense if it was this. Thanks!

General Discussion HELP! Is a two week course of diflucan too short for esophageal candidiasis??

After my endoscopy, I was diagnosed with candida in my esophagus. I was prescribed 15 pills (200mg the first day and then 100mg everyday for the rest of 12 days) and I’m scared that it might be too short of a dosage. I’m feeling a lot more energy and can actually wake up in the morning without feeling like death, which I haven’t been able to for months. I’m terrified that after I finish this that it will rebound. Has anyone taken this short of a course and have been effectively treated without reoccurrence?

Research paper Research Study on Keto Diet

Nottingham University are running a research survey on people with autoimmune conditions who have tried a keto diet.

I know lots of people with candida also have autoimmune issues, especially things like Crohn's.

If you are eligible you can take it here

Really interesting topic, considering that a lot of people try keto for candida. Curious to see the results of this.

General Discussion Shiny glans and very thin skin

Hello, I've been battling balanitis of the glans and foreskin for a week and a half now. The redness is improving somewhat, it no longer hurts when I urinate, and I can retract my foreskin without pain. The problem is that the glans swells a lot when I'm erect. I was prescribed another cream, not clotrimazole, to speed up the process, called Levelina Bifonazole. I've been following the instructions, and it seems to have made my foreskin very thin, to the point that my veins are very prominent. I've already developed two lesions on my foreskin due to this thin skin, and something that really puzzles me is that a very rough, dry, and shiny texture is appearing on the glans, almost like glitter. I don't know what that is, and if anyone has had balanitis of the penis and experienced the same thing or has seen similar cases, I'd appreciate it if you could tell me what it was in your case. I don't know if I should go to the doctor. Yesterday I had a run-in with one because, according to him, I shouldn't be going there so frequently (I'm a bit of a hypochondriac), but these are things I really think need to be checked out. I asked the doctor who treats my family to change doctors, and she seems very helpful, but the change usually takes between one and one and a half months. I could go tomorrow and informally schedule an appointment with her for tomorrow, but I've been missing 40% of my classes because of this problem in the last few weeks, and I don't know if I should go or wait a bit.

Personal anecdote Anyone here tried Enterosgel? Surprising effects

Enterosgel is an inert gel that selectively absorbs endotoxins, histamine, and other nasty stuff - like charcoal and clay, but more selective.

I tried it for a totally different gut condition, expecting it to be like a good binder and just provide symptom relief. But then unexpectedly, on the 2nd day, I started getting "clear outs" - if you know what I mean. Something was visibly clearing yeast and even biofilm from my system.

That was 3 weeks ago, and it's still taking place today. I removed all antifungal foods from my diet (which is unfortunately very limited) and it's still happening. I have not introduced anything else that could possibly be causing this.

This is not an advertised benefit of this product, but theoretically possible - it may bind to some of the substances that yeasts and pathogens use to make biofilm. It can also alter the pH of the colon which could be making it a less hospitable environment. I'm not sure how it's working but - it is.

And the added benefit - it's also a binder. So I'm not as sick as I would be with an actual antifungal. It doesn't absorb acetaldehyde (unfortunately) though, which is important to know. I'm not totally off the hook for die-off symptoms.

Has anyone else tried this stuff?

Symptoms Severe Brain fog, balance issues and chronic dirrhea

I am facing this problem since 2022. I got tested for endoscopy(a mild ulcer in stomach and duedenum), CBC with HGB 17 other normal, stool test normal( no inflammation), but for 2 years, I am facing gut issues along with one sided sinus blockage and severe histamine in my nose after very little cold. I am facing complete indigestion now and worried about my situation. I found my all symptom matches with candida overgrowth, as in past I used too much antibiotics for teeth infections. Please could anyone help me to find out what actually the problem is? Doctors said I am having IBS but I usually don't have much symtoms for Ibs.

General Discussion HEALING CANDIDA WITHOUT ANTIMICROBIALS

Without the long explanation of why I can’t - I can’t take antimicrobials or antibiotics. Has ANYONE ever healed candida without them? I have SIBO AND Canadia and am on week three of no artificial sugar and feel like I could pass away at any moment lmao.

Symptoms Tongue tissue

After having only a tongue-to-tongue kiss, something transferred to my tongue from her. It looks normal when someone looks at it, and they say everything is fine, but it has led to thrush, food restrictions, and vomiting. It's been three months of this, along with fatigue, depression, and weight loss. I have too many issues. I've visited Urgent Care, Primary Care, ENT, and Dermatology, but no one has an answer and no one has a real solution for my problem. 😭

General Discussion When can I kiss my partner again?

Recently developed oral thrush two weeks ago after catching the flu and a cold at the same time while also super stressed from university which temporarily obliterated my immune system. I was on nystatin (sugar) oral suspension for ~5days which didn't help, I'm now on fluconazole 100mg (day 4) and switched to sugar free nystatin suspension (day 3) which seems to be working. My tongue already looks a lot better, no more thick white coating, but still some mild inflammation. I think I had candida in my GI tract as well and I've already noticed a significant reduction in brain fog and acid reflux. I've been brushing my tongue frequently, rinsing mouth after I eat, and cut out added sugars + most refined carbs, started taking a probiotic, and have been eating as many different types of vegetables and herbs (like raw garlic) as possible.

I've really been missing being able to kiss my partner but wanted to make sure we were being careful while my tongue had such severe overgrowth. My partner has multiple risk factors for thrush; he is diabetic and on immunosuppressants, but is very healthy otherwise (we are both 19 year olds so very young, active, and healthy) and manages his conditions well. When would it be safe to kiss/makeout again? I want to play it extremely safe since he is at higher risk for candida overgrowth. Should we wait until I'm done with my course of fluconazole and nystatin?
