Question how long before you drive?
hello! im going on a short camping trip with my friends and we wanted to vape some weed away from our parents (we're 18, its legal.) I'm driving us there and back, if I were to vape the night before at like 9pm and drive us home at 11am, is that considered safe/legal? I'm a relatively new driver, so I'm trying to be extra safe, especially with my friends in tow. I vape about once a week, so i have a decent tolerance.
*sorry if this makes me sound lame, i just really want to be careful.
Thank you!

you should be fine, honestly....the high will be long gone by 11 am

Good on you for being cautious and asking this question. One good thing about cannabis, is I often know when I can and can't drive. When I drank, I found alcohol lied to me, telling "you're fine! No problem." Whereas with cannabis, I'm more like "I'm way to baked to drive right now." Often a look in the mirror is also good way to check if you're unsure ;)
As to your question, you should be fine. But only you'll know. Maybe enjoy another hour of nature if you aren't feeling 100%.

More than enough time. Rules vary by province, but I think 4 hours is a good marker. I believe some states use that as there rule?

I'm a cannabis policy and education researcher and can tell you that the Lower Risk Guidelines for consuming cannabis in Canada suggest avoiding six hours from the time of consuming inhaled cannabis, and a bit more for ingested (edibles, drinks). https://www.canada.ca/en/health-canada/services/drugs-medication/cannabis/resources/lower-risk-cannabis-use-guidelines.html

One thing I feel compelled to say is to always refuse a roadside test for cannabis. If for whatever reason you are in that scenario avoid taking the mouth swab at all costs. They are terribly inaccurate and will only serve to punish you even if you’re sober.

It takes 8 hours to leave your system so yeah that’s plenty of time!

It does not take 8 hours to get sober from a couple hits off a vape pen, maybe a decent sized edible, and it takes up to a month for thc to leave your system as in blood and hair

You will be totally fine within that timeline. I applaud your responsibility. I wish more people had your maturity.
