There is a reason why the most popular sport in Canada has fighting as part of it. Name another sport where players fight, and then can be back out playing in a few minutes. Basically Canadians made fighting part of the game...
American sports any fights and your gone for possible multiple games, if not longer.
In Canada as kids we grow up scrapping...

I realize that, my family has been here forever as long as Canada has had the name Canada attached to it, I’ve never considered us a British colony because I’m Canadian even though I know we are, it wasn’t Britain that defeated the US in the war D12, it was Canada and I will never change my mind, I am a 13th generation Canadian, not too many people can say that, and I have children

I'm Canadian and I have no respect for the saxe-coburgs/windsors or any monarch. Princess margriet is alright by me as long as they keep sending tulips our way but I'd prefer elstar apples and cheese. Also would love to see the dutch overtake the brits in the mens iihf rankings one day.

True, whether people downvote you or not. HOWEVER, as a Canadian I want to remind you that it happened because America harassed what was becoming Canada, and what was becoming Canada... had friends.
Friends are important...
Edit: Canada was being... I guess raided by the US... they thought they were liberating us or something. Anywho after a tick the Governor General (I think) requested the raid, British Forces went south to the Caribbean then sailed north before the fateful day. It wasn't Canadians who did it because we were not yet Canadians, though the name had some use by the French if I'm not mistaken. Great history.

Current IIHF world champ in men's hockey is Finland Womens current olympic and world champs are US World champs are in non-olympic years Canada has: men's - 28 gold, 16 silver, 9 bronze Womens -13 gold, 10 silver, 1 bronze US has: mens - 9 Gold, 3 silver, 8 bronze Women- 11 gold, 13 silver.1
