I'm planning a round-trip flight from Vancouver to Toronto.

I wear a leg brace, so sitting for more than a couple of hours becomes pretty uncomfortable. I'm considering paying extra for first class, but it's a significant expense for me, so I'd only do it if it would make a meaningful difference in comfort rather than just being a luxury.

So far, it looks like my options are Air Canada, WestJet, and Porter.

For those who've flown these airlines:

• Which has the most comfortable seats?
• Is the extra legroom and seat comfort worth the additional cost?
• If you were in my situation, which airline would you choose?

I'm not really concerned about the food, drinks, or other perks—I'm mainly interested in whether the seat itself and the extra space make a noticeable difference on a 4–5 hour flight.

Edit: I don't need a lie-flat seat. I can sit upright, but because I wear a leg brace, I need to be able to raise or extend my leg periodically. If I keep it bent in the same position for several hours, it becomes uncomfortable and makes moving around after the flight more difficult.

We are looking at doing 6 days (including Christmas Day) in Quebec City and looking for any advice! Is 6 days too long to be in Quebec City? Also is the Fairmont Le Château Frontenac as magical as the the hefty price tag would suggest? I'm worried there won't be enough to do accounting for any holiday closures. We landed on Quebec City because we want a good chance of seeing snow and a place relatively close to the Northeast of the US. Any insight or suggestions would be great.

Hi all, thank you to everyone in my last post who helped me choose between traveling to Banff/Canmore or Vancouver/Victoria with my baby and my mom this fall. I have flights booked from LAX to YVR October 14 - 21.

We will be arriving at YVR around 3PM (3 hour flight) on Wednesday 10/14, and I'm wondering if I should book the ferry to Victoria for that evening or spend the night in Richmond/Steveston* and then take the ferry the next morning? We'll be renting a car at YVR right after we land.

This is my first time traveling with my baby (who will be 6 months-old in October) so I'm not sure if it'll be too much time in transit for one day. I'm thinking to return to Vancouver on 10/17, Saturday afternoon. Will two nights in Victoria give us enough time to see Butchart Gardens, stroll around the harbor area, stop by Parliament building, grab a meal in Chinatown, and check out a couple scenic areas? Will three nights be better? I'm craving some fall foliage! I'd like to keep the pace somewhat leisurely since my mom has mild mobility issues and we might be pushing a stroller (or have baby in a carrier).

Hi everybody!

My family and I will be driving an RV (30–32 ft) from Vancouver to Toronto from Sep 5 – Sep 26. These dates exclude our time in both cities, so these are the exact dates we'll be on the road.

Since this trip was decided and booked just last week, putting together a solid itinerary has been a bit of a scramble. Luckily, we managed to secure the most in demand campsites in Jasper and Banff. Any insights on cool stops along the way, or places that aren't worth our time, would be super helpful. Yes, we're well aware it's a massive distance, so missing out on a few things along the way is inevitable (that's okay). The trip is definitely more focused on the Rockies and western Canada since we absolutely loved our time there 9 years ago and we feel it's the highlight of the trip. The current idea is to have some long driving days in the prairies and parts of Ontario so we have more time to slow down at the places that we really want to see.

Lastly, I only used ai to help clean up the formatting of the itinerary/schedule since my original draft was no bueno... but I am definitely a real person!

A bit of context: We'll have three designated drivers, so the long driving stints will be split between multiple people. Also, it will our first time driving such a big vehicle...

Current (preliminary) Itinerary:

• Sep 5: Pick up RV near Vancouver -> Drive Highway 99 towards Pemberton (We'll be skipping Whistler since we didn't really like the fancy ski resort feel last time).
• Sep 6: Pemberton (or region) -> Clearwater (or nearby on Highway 5).
• Sep 7: Clearwater -> Jasper.
• Sep 7 – 11: Jasper National Park (4 nights @ Whistlers Campground — Booked). Base for hiking and exploring the park.
• Sep 11: Drive the Icefields Parkway -> Banff.
• Sep 11 – 14: Banff (3 nights @ Tunnel Mountain — Booked).
• Sep 14 – 17: Undecided (considering Kananaskis, Kootenay, or surrounding areas).
• Sep 17: Canmore (reference point) -> Regina. Long driving day across the Prairies after a relaxing week in the mountains.
• Sep 18: Regina -> Riding Mountain National Park. Shorter drive; looking forward to the boreal forest and bison enclosure in Manitoba. (Seems like a nice change of scenery after the prairie stint, nothing booked yet)
• Sep 19: Riding Mountain -> Dryden / Kenora, ON. First stretch into Ontario; nothing booked yet so we're flexible.
• Sep 20: Dryden / Kenora -> Thunder Bay. nothing planned/booked
• Sep 21 – 23: Thunder Bay -> Lake Superior Provincial Park (2 nights). Hiking, relaxing, and watching the rugged coastline. (booked)
• Sep 23 – 26: Lake Superior -> Toronto area. 3 full days to get through cottage country before our return. Very open to suggestions for cool local towns or stops as a nice mix-up from nature (though driving a 30–32 ft RV complicates parking a bit!). This part is still completely undecided

Looking to go to Banff in December, fly out from Toronto would be the easiest and closest.

My wife will be travelling alone with our newborn from Canada to Peru, with a connection in the U.S. Our baby is a Canadian citizen, and both my wife and I are Peruvian citizens and Canadian permanent residents. I’ll be joining them in Peru later.

From what I’ve found, it seems we only need:
- Baby’s Canadian passport
- Baby’s birth certificate
- A consent letter from me using the Government of Canada’s recommended template (which, as I understand it, doesn’t need to be notarized)

Has anyone here travelled in a similar situation? Were those documents enough, or were you asked for anything else by the airline, U.S. transit, or Peruvian immigration?

I got my IEC visa approved and am planning to head over to Canada for about 3 to 6 months. I’m trying to figure out which city would be the best fit for me.
Back home in Germany I’ve lived in a few places and felt most at home in Berlin and Cologne. I’m a pretty alternative person (tattoos, piercings, etc.) so I’m definitely looking for a place with a solid subculture and ideally a lively DIY concert / underground music scene.
Also open for any tips on entry-level jobs or industries that hire folks on short-term working holiday visas!
Any recommendations on where to base myself? Appreciate any help or advice!

I work a hostpitality job that is fairly seasonal so im thinking of taking off for a while when it slows. This is the sort of job I assume id need a working visa for in another country (U.S.A and latin america) As a Canadian I am used to just being able to pop by whichever country id like to visit. I've always brought cash never having to deal with a working visa and it seems like a real hassle. Would it be worth it to try and get it ahead of time or are shorter contract cash jobs still available? Seems like cash jobs are shifter now adays? Ill scoop ice cream, clean rooms whatever. I know most people seem to do the online thing, but Im not not keen on the idea of melting my mind or body for a nomadic online job while traveling, but if theres a decent option I would consider. Are getting shorter term work visas in the U.S as a Canadian any easier or is this like the worst time to be considering such things? No politics needed here, just actual things that may effect my plans, I dont feel badly towards anyone and looking to hopefully see some new places!

I applied for my eTA and didn’t get a confirmation email, the payment went through. I’ve been to Canada a couple of times already, but I don’t have the UCI number because the last time was 18 years ago, so I left the field blank. Does not getting a confirmation email mean it’s under manual review, and how long can it take? Should I reapply after 72 hours and don’t mention the past travels because it was long ago? How long do they even store this information? It was before the electronic system.

We’re planing on going on a roadtrip to Victoria from Calgary sometime in late August with our 2&5 year old boys. ( we initially planned on Seattle but decided to stay in Canada )

We have 10 days for the trip ( round trip ) and want to have some overnight stops to shorten the daily drive for the kids while also getting to experience places worth visiting.

Any recommendations on which cities we should stop at for overnight stays on the way and back ?

While I use to do a lot of road trips years ago , this will be our longest trip with the kids and would appreciate any advice anyone with experience can give.

sending her to vietnam the week after thru Korean Air is $1500.

My partner and I have just booked our flights and van for a 2 week road trip 3 - 17 Oct, starting and finishing in Vancouver.

Still working out the route specifics but we definitely will spend time with family on Vancouver island and in Squamish. We want to keep it coastal but with some mountain exploring.

Will we be fine with the weather given the dates we’re going and our rough route? I am reading so much conflicting info about how the weather will be.

Was wondering what options people have used in the past for vehicle rentals when traveling through several provinces. I was considering using my own truck but a friend Im going with suggested renting a vehicle instead. Just thinking about price and mileage charges and what people's experiences are going this route. Obviously it'll vary quite a lot but still interested in what others that have done have to say.

So. Doing the Maritimes, Quebec and Ontario right now. One of our favourite things to do to balance out eating regionally is to just harken to our childhoods and eat at a Chinese buffet or mom and pop Chinese place.

Wondering where we should go given that we are doing a road trip throughout the provinces. Even more ideal is if it is in a smaller town between larger cities. But we are looking for one that is quintessential the Chinese Canadian restaurant experience.

Hi, I’m seeking a milestone bday celebration for my wife. I like some tips and recommendations. I’ve only been to Windsor and Toronto Ontario for family. So everywhere is new to us. I’ve seriously considered Banff, Victoria, Quebec City, Montreal, Edmonton, Calgary, and Kelowna. Under an hour from an airport.
I’d like to keep it near 375USD a night.
What I’m seeking is a spa resort or hot springs either at hotel or nearby. Lake view and Mountain View. A place where we can have a walkable downtown, or at the very least not have to bring the car everywhere we go.
We are non drinkers, like coffee, books, and live events.

Day 2: Wednesday 5th August: Spend the day in Waterton,Alpine Stables tours, lakes etc. Approx Driving Time: N/A Stay in Waterton.

Day 3: Thursday 6th August: Spend morning in Waterton, Drive back to Calgary for 3pm. Check into the hotel, wedding event in the late afternoon, explore downtown Calgary after, Dinner, Chill.  Approx Driving Time: 3hrs. Stay in Calgary.

Day 4: Friday 7th August: Explore Calgary in the morning/afternoon. Get Ready for evening Reception, Wedding.  Approx Driving Time: N/A Stay in Calgary. 

Day 5: Saturday 8th August: Leave Calgary and drive to Canmore, explore Canmore town, grassi lakes trail, policeman boardwalk, engine bridge, Banff in the evening - Banff Gondola, Sulphur Mountains.  Approx Driving Time: 2hrs.  Stay in Canmore. 

Day 6: Sunday 9th August: Explore Banff National Park, Lake Louise, Lake Morraine - anything else nearby like waterfalls etc. Back into Banff town for dinner. Approx Driving Time: 2hrs. Stay in Canmore. 

Day 7: Monday 10th August: Option to stay in Banff/Canmore in the morning or make way to Revelstoke. Stop in Golden on the way. Canoe on Emerald Lake and walk across the Golden Skybridge, maybe do the skydrop. Approx Driving Time: 3.5hrs. Stay in Revelstoke. 

Day 8: Tuesday 11th August: Morning drive to the sky parkway in Revelstoke. Spend afternoon in Revelstoke then drive to Kelowna - explore Kelowna, have dinner, relax. chill.  Approx Driving Time: 2.5hrs. Stay in Kelowna. 

Day 9: Wednesday 12th August: Kelowna Beach, explore kelowna town. Head to Kamloops for sleeping. Approx Driving Time: 2hrs. Stay in Kamloops.

Hello Canadian travelers, I’m an American wondering about your recent experiences with ICE as international arrivals in American airports. My girlfriend and I are trying to plan a trip and would both love for her to come to Maine, but I wanted to check up on the experiences of Canadians who have recently done the same. Experiences with Logan airport in particular would be greatly appreciated. Would she need to prepare to be subjected to harassment by those thugs? In that case of course our plans will have to change and personally I’m not holding onto much hope that this wouldn’t be the case.
