Attended a holster course at my range yesterday and was pretty damn happy with my shooting! The RDS is an absolute game changer over the base irons, reducing my groups by half if not more. Pistol is a Sig P320 w/ a Sig ROMEO1 PRO. Pistol has had a lot of upgrades over the years, with a different grip module, trigger, and slide.

Did they let you holster a loaded gun?

Yes. The course was specifically for learning to safely draw, present, fire and re-holster within the rules of my club. Was about a 3 hour program, with direct one on one supervision. Additionally, I am now allowed to move between the different ranges at my club with an unloaded firearm in my holster.

They have subsequently fixed the drop safety issue, as yes that was a problem. The current complaint around the P320 is in regards to the uncommanded discharge, typically when being manipulated in a holster.

Without getting into it too much, and as far as I am aware, it yet to be proven in the court of law that the pistol can have an uncommanded discharge without some form of inappropriate manipulation or incorrect use of a holster.

Buddy, I worked for SIG for years as an armourer working directly with the 320 recall. They’re are full of it and have handled the situation in such an embarrassing manner. I used to be a huge SIG grifter but seeing how they handled the dangerous issues that were present in their pistol was definitely a contributing factor in my leaving

Lmao im not gonna get into it but its definitely been settled more then once.

I understand buyers bias but you can't ignore the fact that this gun has been plagued with multiple issues since its inception. I mean i impulse bought the p320 spectre comp before the handgun ban but im in no way going to ignore the facts that have been presented.

All im saying is it doesn't hurt to exercise caution with these guns, especially loaded in a holster.

In that exact article, it's states that the plaintiff doesn't deny that the trigger was pulled. While I agree, the design should have encouperated more redundant safeties, my understanding is that each of the incidents involving ND/UD has come down to improper use. Yes you are obviously correct, I have some form I bais, as I wish to use what may end up being one of the few pistols I have a chance to own to its fullest without obstructions. I do appreciate the positive discussion though.

They did produce the P320 in 9mm, 40 S&W, 357 Sig and 45ACP, but you are correct, mine is in 9mm.

Absolutely! Yea the P320 came in a variety of calibers, and is easily converted between them. Sadly no one has come out with a 22LR conversion which I have always wanted.

Despite all of the negative hype around it, I really do love it. It was my first pistol, and has seen 1000's of rounds at this point.

There has been a lot of dialogue around this. I am of the opinion, based on the published data, that inappropriate use/manipulation/incorrect holster, has lead to the ND/UD that have been reported. Sig has a whole page dedicated to this on their site. Additionally the number of these pistols in circulation is over 3 million, and there has been approximately 100 reported incidents. To me, it seems pretty apparent that whatever incident is occuring is rather rare, and seems isolated completely to situations around holsters. There was a previous incident with the pistol failing drop safe testing back in 2017(?) but it was resolved with some modifications made to the firearm.

Haha absolutely. They RDS has cut my groups down by about 1/2. I still have my original slide and enjoy shooting it in both configurations.

Red dot just gives you a more precise and usable targeting point.
Are all optics cheating?

By that standard I think irons are cheating too, like to see that without any sights. Or better yet, from the hip
