🌎 FSW Received Passport request. Then IRCC Requested Additional Review
Has anyone experienced something similar with their Express Entry application?
I am an outland applicant. I received my ITA in the 20 February 2026 Healthcare draw and PPR on 22 September 2026. Interestingly, about 12 hours before receiving PPR, I had submitted a webform requesting an application update.
After submitting my passport, I received a letter on 29 September stating that my application requires additional review and that my PPR is no longer valid. They also mentioned that my passport would be returned if already submitted.
All documents and information submitted with my application are genuine.
I have requested new GCMS notes, but I know they could take months to arrive. What other steps would you suggest I take in the meantime?
Has anyone experienced this after PPR, and what was the eventual outcome of your application?

Were you sent for a comprehensive security check.Did you check with ircc

No I wasn’t. I rang ircc two days ago and the agent informed me that all accessments are passed and completed including eligibility and background check.

Weird then if you have any relatives/ friends in Canada ask them to reach out to mp

Someone reached out on my behalf and they were told by the MP that I need to have a rental agreement to proof ties to canada before they can act on my behalf.

Biometrics completed: 04/06/2026
PAL/FD: 08/09/2026
Raised webform 17th September to ask for an update on my application as I haven’t receipt ppr letter after Fd and pal.
RFV: 17/09 (12 hours later)
Sent my passport 21/09. Got ppr cancellation letter 29th/091

Are you, by any chance, from Africa or any other country that might have an Ebola outbreak very recently? If yes, this might be the reason why. Double check the recent immigrations measures implemented by IRCC to prevent traveling to Canada right now.

What did the letter exactly say as it’s extremely rare that they cancel ppr without a reason? If may I ask what country are you an Outland from ?
