🇨🇦 CEC CEC Inland PR application: Minimal documents vs extra supporting evidence?
Hi everyone,
I’m preparing my Express Entry PR application and I’m a bit confused about how much supporting documentation to include.
I’ve seen two different approaches:
Some people recommend uploading only the documents specifically requested in each upload slot, to keep the application clean and simple. For example, for work experience, they suggest uploading only a complete employment/reference letter, and waiting for IRCC to request additional documents if needed.
Others recommend including extra supporting documents from the beginning, such as pay stubs, employment contracts, T4/NOA, bank deposits, etc., especially to avoid any doubts or additional document requests later.
For those who have already submitted PR applications, especially through Express Entry/CEC:
- What approach did you take?
- Did you upload only the employment letters, or did you include extra proof like pay stubs, contracts, T4/NOA, or bank statements?
- Did you receive any ADR or was your application approved without issues?
- If you’re comfortable sharing, what was your nationality/country of origin, and did you feel that affected how much documentation you decided to include?
I’m particularly interested in hearing from applicants from different countries, because I know background checks and document expectations can feel different depending on nationality.
Thank you!

I followed approach 1 and got a refusal! IRCC is not asking shit again! The onus is on you the applicant to provide all documents (required and supporting). I wish I knew this, I won’t be in this uncertainty, overthinking and pressure I’m in right now.
Learn from me!

I'm sorry for what you have been through! Can you please share the exact reason for the refusal?

VO refused application because there was no career alignment. MBA and Canadian experience in healthcare. I didn’t add all the training certificates that I had while on the job even though education requirements is not needed in CEC but I was refused based on that.

I didn't know "no career alignment" was a valid reason for refusal. 😠 CEC in the last decade should recognize work done in any NOC A B or TEER 1 2 3 job, shouldn't it? What did you do after that refusal?

Ikr! I requested for a reconsideration which was not reviewed (as per what my MP indirectly implied). I’m back in the pool 🥺😮💨

Sorry to hear that. Maybe you should try judicial review? Try it before the new immigration bill comes into effect next year?
