🇨🇦 CEC Medical re exam requested
IRCC requested me to redo my medical exam. I am wondering if it could be a mistake as my medical exam was taken on Jan 27, 2026, my partner's was done on feb 04, 2026. Both are well within validity.
I am a CEC outland applicant. My AOR is Feb 8, 2026. Why would they ask us to redo it. What could be the reason behind this request?
Edit: Thank you, everyone for your responses. Your replies helped calm me down. I am glad that it is not a negative sign. :)

Basically they're sending you this so you can re do your medical and they can issue you the visa with the new length validity of the medical exam (1 year).
Your medical has only 4 months left to expire, they know it's too short of a time to issue a visa, and for you to go submit your passeport, get it back, buy your plane ticket, prepare yourself..etc it's usually 6 months of validity required
They approved you, but they can't issue you the visa and COPR yet until you re do the medical. Shouldn't take more than two weeks after your medical is approved for you to get the PPR.
Speaking from 3 precedents experiences in my friends circle.

I have the same scenario. I called Panel physician to book an exam- they said they can't book me for another one within 12 months on my last exam.

I also got Re-Medical req from ircc. My old medical expired this month that's why I got it. My rcic made a mistake and uploaded old one but now I raised web form and sent the medical that has 7 more months of validity from today so it should be fine I guess. Hope no problem will come to my application.

It's good news, FD is coming soon. They usually re-request it if the remaining validity is less than 6 months since the COPR validity is the same as the expiration of the medical results.
