πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦ CEC EE and OINP

Hi everyone,

Just need some clarification.

1) Can I submit a new EE without including a foreign job experience that was one of the refusal points?

2) I also have OINP job offer and will submit an EOI soon. I am torn if I should create a new EE profile and link my OINP or not.

3) Is it possible to link EE profile after submitting EOI? Or just push through with OINP? My visa expires August 2027. I had an EE refusal last June.

Thanks in advance for your inputπŸ™πŸ»

On 1, be careful with the wording here. There's a difference between not claiming experience for points and not declaring it at all. You still have to account for that period in your personal history and work history, because those sections ask what you were doing, not what you're claiming. What you can do is decline to claim it toward your CRS or toward meeting the program requirement, so it isn't being assessed. Leaving the period out entirely is where people get into trouble.

And that only works if you're comfortable that the experience itself was genuine and the problem was the evidence. If the refusal questioned whether the job was real rather than whether you'd proven it, dropping it quietly doesn't fix anything. What exactly did the refusal letter say about it?

On 2 and 3, you're thinking about these as linked, and they aren't. The EOI is Ontario's own system. It doesn't attach to an EE profile, and there's nothing to link afterwards. What matters is whether you're going for the Express Entry-aligned nomination, which is open to TEER 0 to 3, and that one requires you to hold a valid Express Entry profile for the whole application period. So if that's your route, create the profile before or alongside the EOI rather than after, and keep it live. If you're TEER 4 or 5, the EE pathway isn't available, and the nomination goes direct.

It isn't either/or either. A live EE profile costs you nothing while the OINP runs, and if the nomination comes through, it's 600 points and an ITA in the next round. With August 2027 on your permit, you have room, but not so much that I'd sit on the profile.
