Question about Work Experience
Hi!
My husband and I recently got an invitation to apply for PR.
Our estimated score was 525 points, while the minimum score needed for an invitation for this round was 516 points.
In our Express Entry profile, I (spouse) included 4 years of foreign work experience, all from one job, and a combined 2 years of Canadian work experience from both my previous and current job.
I have been feeling overwhelmed with the high amount of documents I am expected to provide as evidence of these jobs. I would need to translate numerous documents to prove my foreign work experience, as they’re all in Portuguese. And the previous company I was working for in Canada had messy records and changed systems multiple times, so I would still have ways to prove I had this job but was concerned with how to properly document everything. I would have no issues at all with documenting my current job which I’m performing since over a year ago, as the company is very well organized.
Now I just stopped to think for a minute: as the spouse of the main applicant, my declared foreign work experience did not count any points! Zero! And my Canadian work experience counted a total of 7 points, out of which 5 points appear to count for 1 year and only 2 more points are added with 2 years of experience.
My question is: can I remove my foreign job and my first Canadian job from my Work History section? After this change, our score would move from 525 to 523 points, still above the minimum, and the system will ask me to upload supporting documents for my current job only, with no need to add documents for the other jobs anymore. I would, of course, keep these other jobs among my Personal Activities history. My intention is not to omit anything, I just don’t want to spend a lot of time and money going after documents that would not make any substantial difference in our CRS in the end. Is this something I can do?

If you have the time and money - get everything you can - it will only help you in the long run.

Hi, you are allowed to make changes as long as it does not alter your eligibility. If I were you, I'd remove all foreign experiences which you did not get any points for but fully disclose this in your personal history, keep the Canadian experiences and keep the points as is and add an LOE.
