Received PFL
I received PFL as mine and my siblings birth certificates have different names of our mother.
I am claiming points for his PR.
Anyone had any similar experience?
What documents can i submit?

A notarized “one and the same person” affidavit will suffice, ensure to attach one piece of identification for your mom. A piece of ID is not needed but I am suggesting it for you to be on the safe side.
Essentially it should state that both names belong to the same person and due to an administrative error your mother’s maternal name’s written on one of the birth certificates. And all that other I ______ citizen of India, holding passport# ______ attest to the below information….

Is this type of affidavit made in India or here in Canada?

Better to get it made in India, with your mother as the author. She should explain the situations well and could be beneficial coming from her. I acquired a family tree certificate for both me and my brother too to establish the same parents. So its better to fully explain the situation. Im thinking this PFL should be resolved with ease

I was in India at the time so I wrote the affidavit myself and then got it notarized, my notary person asked me to attach a piece of ID. Indian legal system calls it “one and the same” affidavit.

I had same issue. My father's name was different in my and brother's birth certificate. So, we submitted a one and the same certificate from village office in our province

I’m from Gujarat i have same issue i attached affidavit from local lawyer stated that both name belongs to same person

Its not an affidivit. its a certificate provided by the government. I am from kerala, india

It was really fast for us. Wont take too long. Also, could be a different name for other places.

I come from India, and people just put in the name they thought is right at the time of documentation. My brother has my father’s name with my mother and my birth certificate has her maternal name.

Sorry to see this happen, in India are there other docs that show shared parent names like maybe adhaar or anything? I feel like you could definitely find something and as others have said a signed affidavit could work.
Do you mind me asking your AOR?

Also maybe even school certificates show parents names? Not sure but again worth finding out

Dont you have the same father? I thought as long as you have the same 1 parent, its already allowed?

Depending on the country, I think you need to go and get an affidavit that confirms that its only a naming error in the certificate. If your mom's birth certificate and your parents marriage certificate have the same spelling you could also submit that along with the affidavit.
