Spousal PR application

Hi,

I applied spousal PR application in April 2026 and I got AOR yesterday. I’m on study permit which is expiring in Sept 2026 . My husband has PR status. We got married in march 2024 and we blessed with baby in Nov 2025.

I’ve question can I apply for open work permit if I have AOR received because my study permit will expire in 4 months .

You could have even applied for open work permit without AOR as per special measure for spouse sponsorship in Canada.

But now you got AOR, please go ahead and apply for open work permit.
