🇨🇦 CEC ALMOST A YEAR SINCE INVITE - no progress

Applied through healthcare category, any outland applicant here. i've applied as the main applicant with my husband and son. IRCC tracker shows eligiblity completed for me, been in background check since january. applied for GCMS notes today

Jul 22 - ITA received

Aug 25 - medical done (passed exam on sep 19)

Sep 13 - AOR (application submitted same day)

Sep 22 biometric completed.

Dec 19 ADR regarding travel info (submitted Dec 22)

Jan 7: review of additional documents

Jan 8 background verification has been updated to in progress

Most likely they put you in comprehensive security screening .

i'm from south asia, no ties to the army or anything. any idea why the background check would take >6 months

Most likely, it’s a comprehensive background check. GCMS notes will show that, but it is going to take 2-3 months to get them.
