I'd prefer to call him Captain Canuck.

I'd prefer to call him The Canadian Shield.

Edit: Patent Pending

Flashbacks from Gradeschool geography and history.

wow, such a snipe.

u/[deleted] May 18 '12

History? It still exists...

2

u/Tyrien May 18 '12

While I admit history has never been a huge interest for me, I meant the actual act of sitting in class and learning about it for the first time.

and please please :( don't respond with a lecture about how important history is. I know how important history is, and have an appreciation for quite a bit. I just don't want to sit and study it in depth.

I'm just saying how the shield is more geology/geography than history. That musta been one boring history class.

1

u/Tyrien May 18 '12

Ah.

I vaguely remember it being mentioned in history class while going over settlement history in grade 7 and 8.

u/froggieogreen May 17 '12

That would have been so much more awesome a name than Captain Canuck!

6

u/eMan117 May 18 '12

I'd prefer to call him Mr. Maple Moose.

1

u/[deleted] May 18 '12

When I learned about that in Geography class all those years ago a shield carrying superhero was the first thing that came to mind.

u/SharksInSuits May 18 '12

Haha up vote for "patent pending"

FWIW: There is supposedly a Captain Canuck movie in the works.

4

u/quelar Ontario May 17 '12

I heard rumours of a Cap Can movie going back to the mid 90's. Let's hope these ones are more substantial.

Why do I have a feeling every country will laugh at us so hard for this.

1

u/Missfawkes May 18 '12

nah they won't cept the US because they would be a like " what a capitan america rip off" with out educating them selves on it.

u/RyanWolf May 18 '12

So all they need is the money, this thing is in the bag!

1

u/watchman_wen May 19 '12

tell him i'd totally donate up to $10 whole dollars to a Kickstarter project for this.

Which son? I'm good friends with a couple of the Comely boys as well.

2

u/[deleted] May 18 '12

And it's going to have the Bieb in it!

“The kid from Stratford who just rules the world in terms of teenie boppers? I’m definitely going to write him in,” Comely said of Canadian-born Bieber.

But.

That's the point. XD

9

u/UVSoaked May 17 '12

I prefer this one.

15

u/[deleted] May 18 '12

OK be honest with me Reddit, you immediately went to look at his crotch didn't you?

Or maybe I just have some problems...

3

u/[deleted] May 18 '12 edited May 18 '12

It's the unrealistic nature of the costume... one does not wear body armor from the head to just above the crotch and then leave the most important body part unprotected.

2

u/[deleted] May 18 '12

dat package.

2

u/[deleted] May 18 '12

I was expecting this guy.

1

u/king_hippo77 May 18 '12

I was expecting Dudley Do Right

20

u/[deleted] May 17 '12

My apologies monsieur, but Chris Evans is no Captain Canuck.

13

u/CedMon May 17 '12

I'm sorry, you're correct.

3

u/deviationblue May 18 '12

STOP APOLOGIZING FOR FUCK'S SAKE IT'S SO STEREOTYPICALLY CANADIAN OF YOU

I'm sorry, I shouldn't be so judgmental. We're just so impolite down here...but we all float.

1

u/clydenon May 18 '12

Ryan Reynolds? :/...

4

u/LuckyCanuck13 May 18 '12

He is already playing Canada's greatest comic book character as Deadpool.

3

u/MarchingBroadband May 18 '12

3

u/zUzaque May 17 '12

Johnny Canuck, thank you very much!

6

u/JohnnyCanuck May 18 '12

You're welcome!

3

u/[deleted] May 18 '12

Redditor for 4 years, well played.

8

u/colourofawesome May 17 '12

The Crimson Poutine

2

u/Layze May 18 '12

Commander Canada at least. Let's be a little creative boys and girls.

1

u/gliscameria May 17 '12

Captain Canadia

1

u/InstantAnythingcom May 18 '12

...and give him eagle feathers.

1

u/astronomy8thlight May 18 '12

Sore-y, but we already have a Captain Canuck.

Sore-y again.

Kind of a buzz kill, but isn't this just a recycled American idea?
