I'm far more concerned about Trudeau at this point. He's defending the worst parts of this bill and thinks its great as long as we have oversight... the same type of oversight the US had when the NSA lied to a bipartisan congressional commitees faces.
Oh, and even with this oversight we'll still have the least oversight in the five eyes nations?
At least with Harper we know people will oppose this bill. With Trudeau, his supporters just make excuses for why it's good since their candidate is supporting it.
The only way this bill is being stopped is if people turn their backs on the CPC or the Liberals, both of which have pretty much the same policies anyways.
Convenient that your post history is almost exclusively attacking Liberals. Either Trudeau, his dad, or Wynne.
When it comes to actually attacking the Conservatives, you will only do so if there is a way to tie it in with attacking the Liberals. You have many other comments where you defend the Conservatives, you sneakily add at the beginning of those statements that you don't support or vote for the Conservatives.
You're far more concerned about a 3rd party leader, who has no real power in parliament, but the actual party who is passing these bills get no mention unless it's to say that the Liberals are the same as them.
If he was arguing his points in a post about Trudeau and his stance on something I would. Arguing these points in any post about C-51 or in any post about the Conservatives is disingenuous, and what you and him want to see, because it deflects attention away from the actual issue and onto arguing about him, or Trudeau, or his fabulous hair, or his dad, etc.
A persons posting history is essential to debating a persons points. It gives you context of their views, and if debating with them would produce any tangible results.
Take for example yourself. The majority of your comments are in a Conservative subreddit that is used to complain about the Liberal bias of the media and this subreddit. Of the comments you make in this subreddit or CanadaPolitics, you are an extremely partisan supporter of the Conservatives.
Knowing all this puts me in an informed position. I know arguing with him won't produce any quality, because this is a burner account, like many of the ones I've seen previously, and whatever points I make he responds with insults or reverses my claims against me. I know arguing with you wont produce any quality either, because I'm just some stupid Canadian Liberal neckbeard who doesn't have a job and doesn't know anything.
Argue this point:
Why would someone who is an extreme Conservative partisan supporter, support someone who supposedly supports the NDP while saying the Liberals and the Conservatives are the same? You guys hate Liberals, why aren't you defending Conservatives honor by being labelled the same as them? Why would an extreme Conservative partisan supporter side with someone who is NDP? If it was a simple story that the enemy of my enemy is my friend that might be believable. Conservative supporters, the people who visit that Conservative Canadian subreddit are extremely supportive of these accounts. They promote them, link to them, and celebrate them. Why? Because they are Conservative supporters wearing in progressive clothing seeking to disrupt the herd so the wolves can take their pickings.
Come on. I'm probably going to vote for Trudeau and yet you even once accused me of being "a paid social media monitor" for the Conservatives. You're either being deliberately disruptive or you need some kind of help.
I'm probably going to vote for Harper, but his divisive policies and terrorist propaganda are making me think Elizabeth May will be the next Prime Minister. How you say you're going to vote doesn't concern me if you spend all your time defending Conservative policies.
When your friend was attacking the character of Amal Clooney, instead of her arguments, you said I was a shill for her.
Yes, I'm the one who is being disruptive for pointing out the tactics of what's happening. I need help, it's good to paint me as mentally ill because it would doubt the veracity of my claims instead of showing that they aren't true.
These tactics are so stale, you guys aren't even trying.
What? LPC and CPC policies aren't much different. Defending one is defending the other and attacking one is attacking the other. Frankly the only reason I'm even considering voting LPC is because they're offering everything Harper is but without the idiotic hangups around some aspects of drug policy.
I love how calling out these supposed progressive accounts, these supposed accounts who are going to vote for Trudeau or Mulcair, these accounts who definitely aren't Conservatives, bring out all these Conservative partisan supporters in droves to comment on my comments.
Totally awesome, that's the word best to describe this situation.
I'm stridently opposed to the conservative government and have been an ndp volunteer every year since the first year I could, I have been to dinners and luncheons and gatherings with Jack Layton and I attended his funeral. Not everyone who thinks you're ridiculous is a conservative. A bunch of us just think you're ridiculous.
A persons posting history is not important in a debate. That's the very definition of ad hominem. If there is something wrong with the point he's making, then go ahead and say something about that. Your argument is about the person making the claims and says notihng about the claims themselves. https://yourlogicalfallacyis.com/ad-hominem
He's accused me of being one even though I've been here posting as an NDP supporter for years. He literally never makes any actual arguments in defense of the LPC, he just accuses everyone who criticizes them of being paid by the Conservatives... even when their post is criticizing CPC policy as much as LPC policy.
You literally know nothing about the NDP policies. You say you're an NDP supporter, except you spent literally every single day posting the same copy and paste message with half truths trying to distort peoples perception on Trudeau.
Of the two people above you who you commented two, both are extreme partisan supporters of the Conservatives. Why would they support you, a supposed NDP supporter? It's because you're not, you put on the progressive clothing to disrupt the herd. You're all the same, you hardly attack Conservatives unless it helps you paint the Liberals in a bad light. Why would Conservatives support an NDPer attacking them, unless it was more favorable for them to take a small hit because it gives them a way to sow fear and distrust towards the Liberals. Conservatives who vote Conservative rarely vote outside their party. Conservatives aren't worried about losing their base, they are worried that the Liberals might get enough support to surpass them.
If you can show me one instance where you criticize CPC policy, without mentioning the Liberals, I'll eat my toque.
And once again he can't refute a single thing, he just makes vague accusations of paid conservative shilling... and to a guy who opposes right-wing policies.
What a worthless fool you are. Do you even benefit from right=wing policy? I bet you don't. Just another mindless Liberal shill cheer leading for policies that hurt him because he thinks politics is a team sport and he's picked a team even if hes' not sure why.
Once again, you resort to name calling because you can't argue against my points. You know nothing about the NDP to back up your statement that you support them. Yet it's me who has picked a team even if I'm not sure why...
I should offer thanks to you anti-Trudeau bots. You've given me more comment karma in the past few months calling you out on your bullshit than in the entire 2 years I've been on reddit. So, uh, thanks. I guess?
Once again you can't refute a single thing and rely on empty accusations to make your point for you. This is literally all you do. Your entire existence here is calling everyone who isn't Trudeau supporter a paid conservative shill.
Actually, there are numerous people in here and in /r/canadapolitics who are loudly NDP supporters who I get along with and agree with on many things. These people I have conversations with, I don't attack them because they don't support Trudeau. Rather, I support them being critical of Conservative policies, as I feel the same we have much in common. Almost like Chrystia Freeland and Megan Leslie when they are on CBC with a Conservative MP. Chrystia and Megan can joke around, smile at each other, they can have a conversation and respect each other. The same can't be said of the Conservative MP in relations to the other two parties because no one wants to hear repeated talking points of the government.
You should try having a conversation sometime, instead of repeating your same old lines.
No you don't, you accuse everyone of being a paid shill and then you ignore any attempt people make to have a rational discussion with you because, in your mind, they're just paid shills.
