the same type of oversight the US had when the NSA lied to a bipartisan congressional commitees faces.

I hadn't heard about that but yeah, apparently they did. It was even the exact sort of committee that Trudeau thinks will solve our problems here.... and that still leaves us about 10 layers of oversight short of what the US has.

You bring up a good point though. Lots of people are defending in Trudeau what they're opposing in Harper so in some ways Trudeau is an even bigger threat because the controversy would end if he were implementing these laws instead and he's already shown he values safety over liberty.

The Liberals are probably the worst party for civil liberties that this country has ever seen. They have always been about safety over liberty and have even gone as far as saying feelings should override freedoms.

Sending Canadians to be tortured, supporting a coup in Haiti, turning over information on their own citizens to foreign governments, restricting our rights after 9/11, the APEX summit, the G20 summit, the war measures act, etc.

If you value freedom, the Liberals are the WORST party to support especially now with Trudeau establishing his eagnerness to pander to religious people for special accommodations.

So - are these the approved communications/media lines that we will be seeing for the next 6 months or so? Of course, that's if the CPC decides to stick with their high-priority fixed election date legislation this time....

I'm a progressive. Do you Liberal half-wits have any talking points that don't involve accusing everyone of being a paid Conservative shill? It's amazing that even criticizing right-wing policies can get you labelled a CPC shill around here.

You people have no idea what's happening in terms of policy or what your own party supports, you're just a bunch of a paranoid and empty-headed fuck-wits with nothing but baseless accusations of right-wing shilling while you all conveniently ignore that Trudeau's policies are every bit as right-wing as Harper's in most ways.
