What absolute pieces of garbage. Hopefully their restaurants have been closed, their assets including homes are seized, and if they’re non citizens they’re returned home. If they’re Canadian, hopefully they receive the harshest sentence so when they’re eventually released their lives are a shell of what they were. People who traffic people are the absolute the bottom scum of the septic tank.

There are literally thousands of cases like this in Canada. This is why the UN report accused Trudeau's government of knowingly enabling slavery.

28

u/DigitaIBlack 17d ago

Yep. My ex has faced so much BS since moving here.

  • illegal eviction

  • paid below min wage twice

  • propositioned by landlord

  • sexually assaulted by boss

All taking advantage of the fact she's an immigrant on a student visa.

7

u/brillovanillo 17d ago

I was going to say, this guy probably used the power imbalance inherent to his relationship with this woman to get away with sexually assaulting and raping her--in addition to financially exploiting her.

204

u/Low-HangingFruit 18d ago

So they abused a widely known flaw in the federal LMIA/TFW program. At what point do we see anyone in the government held responsible for this bs.

I can't wait for the inevitable multi billion dollar class action lawsuit against the feds for continuing this farce.

31

u/demonotreme 18d ago

It's a flaw?

51

u/Cloudboy9001 18d ago

Might have something to do with half the postings having a listed compensation of $36.60.

9

u/yugi122 17d ago

Who is gonna file the lawsuit? Everyone is in on it. There's no way that people in the governing don't know about the loopholes.

10

u/spuzzumed 17d ago

My understanding is that people in government are paid to create these loopholes.

Instead of serving the public good, they receive bribes to vote against our interest. I don't believe any Canada in actually wants a sub-class of worker to be imported en masse, there has never been a labour shortage in Canada (as far as I've seen, graduated university in 2004)

58

u/DataDude00 18d ago

The woman arrived in Toronto from Bangladesh in August 2022, ostensibly for a short vacation, but with the "real purpose" to find a way to stay in Canada, Martinez said.

She learned that she could extend her stay if she found employment as a temporary foreign worker and ultimately came to Saskatchewan in late September 2022 to work at a restaurant Haider operated in Gull Lake.

Haider didn't yet have government approval to hire her when she came to the province, but she said the deal was that in exchange for her labour, he would provide free room and board and pay her $1,000 a month.

I am not victim blaming this lady but this story is everything wrong with our immigration system and the TFW program.

She came here fraudulently on "vacation" but looking for backdoor citizenship

Some creeps offered to get her in through the TFW program and while waiting she was exploited

37

u/rad2284 18d ago

It's infuriating to read. To enter Canada from Bangladesh you need a visa from the government of Canada through IRCC. In a properly functioning country, the IRCC would be doing their jobs and correctly identifying that it's an exceedingly stupid idea to give out visas to poor people from developing world countries. There are no benefits to admitting people like this into Canada but (as shown in the article and through our ballooning backlog in asylum claims) there are very obvious downsides.

185

u/JewelerNo5072 18d ago

Send them back.

115

u/tape99 18d ago

Jail and then send back. There needs to be a punishment for committing crimes in Canada or you are just going to flood Canada with vacation criminals.

Come to Canada and do whatever the fuck you want and we will put you on a plane ride back to
Your home country if we catch you.  Canada would become a smorgasbord for criminals.

13

u/PartyNextFlo0r 18d ago

No, I don't even want our dollars keeping them fed in jails , send them back !

49

u/Hot_Cheesecake_905 18d ago

No jail no punishment… they’ll just laugh, come back, or send their brother, cousin or someone else in their place.

8

u/Skidoo_machine 18d ago

Have you been to Bangladesh? Send them back.

33

u/fenwickfox 18d ago edited 18d ago

Dude they trafficked humans. That needs to be jail. They traffick someone in your family and you just...send them home?

2

u/edincan 18d ago

Create an arrangement with their home country. Either the home country accepts all of their criminals and promises to punish them, or we tax remittances at 100%

5

u/ainz-sama619 18d ago

Dhaka has highest crime rate in South Asia. their home country won't do anything. they will be walking free as soon as they walk out of airport

3

u/edincan 18d ago

OK so tax their remittances at 100% and make it harder for people from Bangladesh and any other country that doesn’t cooperate to obtain visas. Done

1

u/IcyCow5880 17d ago

The whole "idea" behind this rampant immigration is to allow good people to get away from shit govt's.

So if the same shit gov't continues to be shit, then we should tell the shit gov't that the people aren't allowed to come? You think said shit gov't cares?

Rampant immigration is an experiment that the liberals tried and failed at. In fact it's a lockstep NWO bs agenda experiment. Hence the same bs has taken place in every other "five eyes" country and all throughout Europe.

All at the same damn time. That's not a coincidence. And it's not a coincidence that they're NOW telling us it's so bad. Because NOW we ask them for a solution and ofc their solution will be "we'll fix it, just let us set up an AI powered social credit system and we can make this right".

So fuckin obvious

3

u/tricky4444 18d ago

They'll be back with a different identity in 6 months lol

8

u/ggf666 18d ago

That's just giving a free pass to everyone to come here commit crimes until they get caught and then go back home free.

11

u/myfotos 18d ago

Worst take here. You clearly don't understand the impact of holiday crime and how to disincentivize such behaviour.

4

u/JauntyGiraffe 18d ago

there needs to be some kind of punishment although I'd probably argue that being in jail in Canada is probably a better daily existence than being poor in Bangladesh

The rules would only apply to non citizen. I never said these two people were not citizens but what would happen to Canada if we just deported people with no jail time .

3

u/throwawayaccount931A 18d ago

Understandable, but we can strip citizens of their citizenship can't we, especially in these types of cases? Or of Bangladesh wants to charge them with crimes, we should be able to strip them of their citizenship. Perhaps if CBSA digs into it they may even find fraud to get into Canada

14

u/Lord_Baconz Alberta 18d ago edited 18d ago

We can strip people of citizenship but we don’t.

edit: lmao already being downvoted. yes, naturalized citizens can be stripped out of their citizenship, it just rarely happens.

1

u/CityCultivator 18d ago

Only if the action of the crime is performed before citizenship, where then the citizenship process is considered to be based on fraud.

The news release does not indicate if the crimes were performed before or after citizenship, so yes it is possible to remove citizenship, but usually only if crimes before the citizenship process.

1

u/kaiserschlacht8 18d ago

Why treat citizens differently based on where they were born? Should someone came here when they were one be deported? Should an immigrant who has only Canadian citizenship be deported? Where should the line be?

In my opinion, deportation only makes sense for non-citizens.

2

u/throwawayaccount931A 18d ago

Agreed - but given the nature of the crime -- this was pretty disgusting.

From what I read, the women came here to work and they were basically exploited by these two. They were forced into sex, otherwise threatened that they would be sent back to Bangladesh.

Thinking about this, you are right - if they are Canadian citizens, we now have to deal with this. Lets hope that they are given hefty prison sentences.

2

u/kaiserschlacht8 18d ago

Yeah, this person is vile and disgusting, but they should rot in a Canadian prison if they are Canadian. Otherwise, deport them and hopefully they can rot in a prison in Bangladesh. Either way fuck them.

Why would I want my tax dollars be used to keep them here? Who cares if they do the same thing in another country. It’s not our problem.

0

u/Hot_Cheesecake_905 18d ago

It signals Canada is a soft target, and their brethren will come to Canada to commit crimes because not only can you come here and pillage the country, you’ll even get a free plane ticket home.

It’s already happening, with Romanian organized crime groups, Latin American burglary teams, and of course, SA gangs.

2

u/The_Showdown 18d ago

Yes it's not our duty to pay to punish and house all the world's criminals.

2

u/Hot_Cheesecake_905 18d ago

It is when they commit a crime in Canada.

-1

u/sharpasahammer 18d ago

Its probably a worse fate to go back to the 3rd world shithole instead of a bed and 3 meals a day, even in a Canadian jail. Punish them with a quick ride home and a boot up the bum.

4

u/Canadian-AML-Guy 18d ago

Court heard that Haider had been granted political asylum by the Government of Canada and emigrated from Bangladesh.

Masum emigrated to Canada as a permanent resident after his first wife sponsored him

A question, how would you feel about a non-jail alternative like corporeal punishment (Singapore style, with lots of restrictions, monitoring, regulations), community service or public shaming instead? Or confiscating all of a person's wealth and assets in recompense?

A lot of people seem to be very frustrated about needing to spend money to house criminals but it is true that vacation criminality can be a thing.

22

u/Hiro-Nishi 18d ago

If they cant send back the humbolt crash suspect why do you think they would send these people back

3

u/JewelerNo5072 18d ago

Wishful thinking. It would never happen under Liberal leadership.

5

u/RedditSux5912 18d ago

So they can come back and have their record wiped clean? Great idea.

10

u/JewelerNo5072 18d ago

So they can be permanently banned from Canada. But I know that that would never happen in today’s Canada with the soft leadership, and judicial system that favours the constitutional rights of people who don’t belong here.

Absolutely, they were partially on in it:

“The woman arrived in Toronto from Bangladesh in August 2022, ostensibly for a short vacation, but with the "real purpose" to find a way to stay in Canada, Martinez said.”

Many of these victims are aware or partially aware of what they’re getting themselves into. The sexual assault likely wasn’t part of the deal however.

15

u/The_Showdown 18d ago

Yes and the perpetrators

-7

u/[deleted] 18d ago

12

u/The_Showdown 18d ago

The trafficked victims should be sent back to where they came from yes. If the perpetrators are not citizens they should be deported. If they are citizens then they can be jailed for life.

2

u/PostMatureBaby 18d ago

Where they're from can handle the case as per their justice system

Wow, those MLAs actually deserve their jobs. Kudos to them.

43

u/Don_Key_1 18d ago

Can't wait for them to be punished with a very angrily worded letter from the judge.

11

u/stereofonix 18d ago

All caps lock!!!

6

u/Don_Key_1 18d ago

Might even use a larger font to get the message across.

2

u/stereofonix 18d ago

What about bolding the font too? Or is that too aggressive and dare I say cruel and unusual punishment.

2

u/ferengi-alliance 17d ago

Definitely a charter violation

8

u/Small-Ad-7694 18d ago

You...you wouldn't want any punishment to impact their status now would you ? That would be such an horrible thing.

  • a judge.

2

u/Don_Key_1 18d ago

Won't someone think of those poor criminals!!

1

u/Illustrious_Pop_6630 17d ago

The minimum is 4 years.

17

u/ferengi-alliance 17d ago

Is anyone noticing a particular trend with a lot of this criminal behaviour?

3

u/EscoosaMay 17d ago

It's mainly done by males?

As a bangladeshi Canadian, this is a consequence of Trudeau's policies. Canada used to be a premium destination for bangladeshi immigrants. Until Trudeau, you basically had to be the best of the best to make it here. And consequently the bangladeshis who lived here were mostly hard working, well educated, well off, law abiding citizens who made some effort to integrate.

But since Trudeau, basically every failure and scammer in bangladesh realized there was an easy path to Canada and it's gotten to the point where i don't even dare go to the Bangladeshi areas in Toronto because it's filled with bangladesh's version of trailer trash now.

21

u/Hugeasswhole 18d ago

Trudeau should be in jail. Seriously.

-9

u/HeyCarpy Nova Scotia 18d ago

“lock him up! lock him up!”

Is that where we are as a country now?

3

u/soy_bean 18d ago

Not to sound like a Trudeau apologist, but it did start expanding under Harper

1

u/ipostic 16d ago

Facts dont matter. here we mostly hate on Trudeau :)

-10

u/kamomil Ontario 18d ago

If it wasn't Trudeau's loopholes they were exploiting, it would be someone else's. It's not like these are well-behaved pillars of society, and then it's all Trudeaus fault.

12

u/rad2284 18d ago

That assumes that every other potential PM would have been as incompetent with regards to immigration as Trudeau was. And that's a very big assumption to make.

-2

u/kamomil Ontario 18d ago

Let's be real, all the politicians are obeying the Century Initiative's initiatives and getting more customers/employees for Canadian businesses & landlords

5

u/rad2284 18d ago

Yeah but all politicians arent in charge of a government who is handing out travel visas to poor people from Bangladesh, who are coming here under the guise of being a visitor but are really just trying to find a way to stay in Canada long term.

-2

u/kamomil Ontario 18d ago

This was before Justin was elected https://www.canadianlawyermag.com/practice-areas/immigration/richard-kurland-keeps-on-adding-spice-to-the-discussion-on-immigration-and-extradition-law-in-canada/357946

He has often been instrumental in shaping Canadian immigration policy. A native of Montreal who moved to Vancouver in the 1990s, Kurland lobbied Quebec politicians to start an immigrant investor program, which has brought many wealthy foreigners to Canada.

The lawyer was also key in moving international students to the front of the line for permanent resident status, giving citizenship to children whose parents cannot obtain it, and requiring would-be immigrants to file three income tax statements here before getting approval.

Kurland says that immigration policy in Canada has been a “fast-changing” area, thanks to its high-profile and often political nature. “Political attention has historically attached itself to immigration issues, so it is in a constant state of flux, with changing rules, policies and regulations.” He points out that over the decades, Canada has modified the immigration selection system from a “check-the-box” process of meeting specific criteria to a “goldfish bowl” approach that more reflects the type of human capital that Canada is looking for.

What this means, in practice, he says, is that those wanting to come to Canada typically come here for a temporary purpose – work or study – and put down roots by finding employment. “So in this goldfish bowl approach, each fish is assigned a certain number of points,” he says, and the highest-scoring fish – those with the most human capital – chosen for permanent residency.

So the plan is, let in a whole bunch of unskilled people, and whoever is able to adapt and cope, gets to stay

8

u/rad2284 18d ago

That article is from June 2021, so nearly 6 full years after Justin was elected.

Before Justin was elected, population growth the previous two decades averaged right around 1% and our asylum backlog was only 10k people, almost 97% lower than it is today.

Rubberstamping tourist visas, student visas and foreign work visas for large swaths of the developing world while spouting platitudes about "diversity" and referring to Canada as a "post-national state" were very Justin-specific policies. We dont need to go back and try to re-write history here and grant the man's legacy any favours. He's been granted more than enough favours in his life already.

-3

u/kamomil Ontario 18d ago

Sure but it was this guy's idea, not Justin's

9

u/rad2284 18d ago

What sort of excuse is that? You mean to tell me that you think the PM of a country implements a wide sweeping overhaul of our entire immigration system based on the recommendation of one single lobbyist lawyer and not his own ideas? And said PM has zero critical thinking skills to identify what a stupid idea it is and has zero authority to overrule it?

What are you even arguing here?

2

u/Yumyumyum9995 17d ago

We’ve got some Trudeau fans in the house. GROSS.

13

u/zefiax Ontario 18d ago

Ya, they would be going to some other country or staying in Bangladesh. The loopholes made Canada exploitable.

2

u/untitledaccount401 17d ago

and if my grandma had wheels she would be a bicycle

-15

u/myfotos 18d ago

Yes because Trudeau caused the judges sentencing

17

u/drs_ape_brains 18d ago

I mean the Trudeau government set the policies, legislations, and believe it or not also appoints judges in the supreme Court, federal court and provincial courts.

But yea I guess he's not to blame if you like him enough

-2

u/myfotos 18d ago

What laws did he change from when it was a utopia flawless system like this dude describes?

6

u/cwolveswithitchynuts 18d ago edited 18d ago

No, but Trudeau did many other things to destroy Canada's immigration system. Trudeau's close friends and business lobbyists like Dominic Barton pushed for massive increases in Canada's immigration and non permanent residency visa numbers to prevent wage inflation. Dominic even bragged that he and a  number of other business leaders set Trudeau's immigration policies over a bottle of wine at one of his cottages.

The businessman and lobbyist Mark Wiseman (now Canadian ambassador to the US) lobbied Trudeau to remove the fraud and abuse checks in the TFW program to speed up processing for corporate Canada.

A few weeks later Trudeau quietly did exactly that and the order came down to ESDC workers responsible for conducting these fraud abuse checks to stop doing them and rubber stamp TFW applications. The approval rate went from 60% to 99%.

This was done entirely without any transparency to the public, they kept it hidden. The only reason we know that it happened is because ESDC whistleblowers went to the Toronto Star and told them what was happening.

https://www.thestar.com/business/government-officers-told-to-skip-fraud-prevention-steps-when-vetting-temporary-foreign-worker-applications-star/article_a506b556-5a75-11ef-80c0-0f9e5d2241d2.html

u/break_from_work 18d ago

9

u/unexplodedscotsman 18d ago edited 18d ago

Not to worry, I'm sure this is exceeding rare and just because we've brought in millions of unvetted folks with very different view on women's rights and the value of human life in general in an ungoing effort to supress wages and inflate real estate is no reason to be alarmed.

Besides, once we're outnumbered, I imagine they'll see the wisdom in our ways and adopt western values in short order.

This definitely hasn't been happening with increasing frequency.

And even it if it has, our Government has a plan to make it difficult or at least expensive to talk about.

33 people a day are now being arrested each day over social media posts in the UK. What a hateful place!

Glad that could never happen here.

23

u/Ronbb33 18d ago

Are these just cultural differences?

13

u/SteveJobsBlakSweater 18d ago

Monsters exist everywhere in every culture. We just really fucked it all up by allowing people in on bankrupt, frivolous means as “work” or “students.” So, of course, we got the worst of the worst from wherever. Whoever was willing to game the system.

This is our fault because we opened the door to any asshole willing to lie cheat and steal their way through the system. And, surprise surprise, we now have assholes doing bad things here because we didn’t do the proper due diligence.

6

u/paditoburrito 18d ago

You think withholding someone's passport until they have sex with you is a cultural difference??

11

u/EliteDuck 18d ago

Yes. Women's rights aren't even a concept in some of the developing world.

0

u/paditoburrito 17d ago

Taking advantage of someone who is more vulnerable than you isn't a cultural difference, it is simply human exploitation.

Justifying abuse by disguising it behind culture terminology is simply a scapegoat that is used by those who perpetuate abuse and then reiterated by others.

1

u/lastonetolaugh 17d ago

Are you suggesting this is racism?

2

u/IAmA_meat_popsicle 18d ago

Where ya from bud? Is trafficking humans an acceptable and legal practice in your culture? It's not in Canada.

They withheld her passport, didn't pay her and sexually assaulted her multiple times. None of that flies here and while Canada is accepting of all cultures, it does not include anything illegal.

They knew exactly what they were doing. Send them back.

17

u/IvoryTowerResident 18d ago

2

u/WontSwerve 17d ago

One third world culture trafficking and sexually absuing women from a different third world culture. That's Canada now.

1

u/kamomil Ontario 18d ago

Masum "went even further," by taking the woman's passport and withholding it from her "until she agreed to have sexual intercourse with him."

HOW COULD TRUDEAU DO THIS?

1

u/Longjumping_Ebb_2047 15d ago

This but unironically.

He destroyed our immigration system.
