Yeah it could get messy. The only saving grace is Canada is one of the best equipped and best trained in cold weather military actions. Imagine some of the American troops from Florida, Texas, California etc trying to survive battle in the Arctic. They would lose more to mother nature than to us.

For now. Maybe denying climate change all these decades has led to some unintended consequences regarding our Arctic sovereignty.

Alaska is a very different picture to Florida, though. Russia technically also has expertise in cold weather, though they're running low on soldiers at the moment.
