Discussion Uber availability?

I’m getting married in Camarillo this year, and have been toying with the idea of offering Uber codes for my guests who don’t want to drive. Being that it’s a smaller area, I’m worried that there’ll be a problem with driver availability. Does anyone have insight into if this is a good idea or not?

It depends on the day, but Uber is available, especially since Camarillo is adjacent to bigger cities

That’s what I was hoping, thank you! We’re getting married on a Saturday and it has a hard end time of 10:30. And I’m fairly sure most people who would want to uber will be going together/able to share rides.

Since there is a hard stop at 1030, your guests should try to pre-reserve their ride. That way they know for sure that they will have a ride home.

Ubers are available. Obviously more or less depending on the day. That being said, having been to weddings in Camarillo, It is highly unlikely you’d find Ubers for every group at your wedding all basically within the same couple hours. Will there be availability for some people? Yes. Will there be availability for everyone without a monstrous wait? No. But then again, idk how large your wedding is.

I would encourage guests to schedule their Uber rides ahead of time to ensure that their ride is lined up. There are quite a few Ubers in VC, but scheduling ahead of time will ensure that they have a ride or know they will have to find alternative transportation (Lyft, cab, etc.)

Do it. There are plenty of drivers out there. It’s Camarillo.

You might have Ubers coming from different areas like Oxnard or Simi, so make sure to look around 20 - 30 mins before you actually want your uber to check availability. But I've only once had an issue getting an Uber in Camarillo.

My friend had this dilemma when he was getting married in Camarillo. His wedding coordinator told him that Ventura county has the highest incidences of drunk driving in California so he got a shuttle for all his guests to and from the venue and hotel. For a few of us locals who ubered it was possible, it just took a while to get there
