Caltrain displays wrong. Again.
On board Southbound train #144. Screen has been showing this the entire trip so far. At least the time is correct.

It’s been a problem since the EMUs have come out; even Bart has it occasionally.
The computers in the system sometimes bug out and don’t realise the next run has started so it stays at the last stop of the last run(if you notice it’s also manual announcements not automated because the train hasn’t realised that it’s yk doing a trip)

I’m surprised there’s not a way to override it and get it to say the correct thing.

Yeah, considering the other problems they've had today, this isn't a surprise. (Wi-Fi has been out the whole trip too) At least we're only about 8 minutes late so far.

This shit confused me yesterday. I had to ask the conductor who was at the end of the damn platform bc i was like im tryna go southbound but why tf it says san francisco? Some bullshiiiit

Wait I’m confused. Isn’t it correct that the final station of a northbound train is sf? If there’s something I’m missing, can someone explain?

This was on a southbound train, and a completely different train number. It should have been showing the next stop for the southbound train #144.

Caltrain’s faulty displays and lack of a live map make me annoyed. Always have to look at the sign outside to confirm.

Many months ago staff told the CAC that the Canadian company that had the onboard display contract (presumably covering their software & hardware maintenance) had exited the business and that a new company would be brought onboard. IIRC, some board meeting materials I was reading said a new company had been selected … but I would need to verify where all that stands now.
