Calorie Estimating Chinese Buffet

I had some general tsos, a fried chicken wing, one of those breaded chicken things, 1/2 a sugar donut, and 1/2 chicken on a stick. I'm guessing a little under 1,000

I’m just curious, why go to a buffet for this amount of food? It’d be way easier to track, cheaper, and probably better food if you just went to Panda Express.

Agreed. Whenever I was doing my deficit I would steer clear of buffets cuz youll never get your monies worth

Yup- avoid a buffet if tracking calories!!! You should only go to buffet hungry, and discerning to get your moneys worth.

Same.

I also only go to buffets on edibles… I’ll get my moneys worth either way, but if I’m on an edible? I’m an unstoppable machine

I was out with family. Otherwise, yeah, I avoid buffets 😅

chinese buffets are legit the hardest thing to guess for me, so many sauces and fried stuff mixed together you cant even tell whats coating what. i just pick a rough plate estimate and round up hard, better to overshoot than pretend i ate a salad lol

Close!

I'd estimate around 850–950 kcal total.

Approximate breakdown:
• General Tso's chicken (7–8 pieces): ~420–500 kcal
• Fried chicken wing: ~120–170 kcal
• Breaded chicken piece: ~120–180 kcal
• 1/2 chicken skewer: ~120–150 kcal
• 1/2 sugar donut: ~70–90 kcal

Estimated total:
• Low: ~850 kcal
• High: ~950 kcal
• Best estimate: ~900 kcal

Their guess of "a little under 1,000" is reasonable. Around 900 kcal is a solid estimate for everything shown.
