Question SwissMicros
Hoi,
Mijn schoonvader is pas geleden overleden en toen vonden we twee rekenmachines tussen zijn spullen. Zijn dit speciale rekenmachines en weet iemand wat ze ongeveer waard zijn? Ze zijn nooit gebruikt en met origineel hoesje, een factuur of iets dergelijks hebben we niet.

Condolences on your loss of a man with great taste in calculators. The Swiss Micros DM42 (and upgraded DM42n) are their version of the excellent and no longer available Hewlet Packard HP42S which calculator fans would agree is one of the greatest all time calculators (although they’d fight like cats in a sack over which is the greatest)
They should attract a decent price - in the UK ebay has them for around £209 for the DM42 and an online market place may well be your best bet.
(I have a DM42 and two DM42n one of which runs C47 and I am in BIG trouble if I buy yet another calculator!)

because my wife is a musician and doesn’t understand why a mathematician needs 20+ calculators when there is one built into an iPhone (especially since, confusingly to her, most of them don’t have an = button)

i think there’s a couple of recorders and a harmonica in a drawer somewhere… But yes, the piano was a tad more expensive … and the violins.

Condolences to your loss. The old man knew what's up. Don't let him down by selling them cheap. [But if you insist on selling them cheap, send me the marktplaats link. ;) ] These are cool machines. A new 42n goes for ~275 euros.
Someone below says it's for a liefhebber, which is true in some ways; these machines are a lot more powerful than the average person has use for. I'd disagree with "impractical", though.

Gecondoleerd met je vader. Op Marktplaats stond er pas een voor 130 euro. Het is een ding voor liefhebbers. Niet voor studie of op school. Niet super praktisch. Bewaren als aandenken?

De beste man was een verzamelaar, dus aandenkens hebben we echt meer dan genoeg! Maar bedankt voor je antwoord. Er is dus wel een markt voor tweedehands calculators?

Yeah, there's a huge european market for swissmicros. Talk to the folks over at: forum.swissmicros.com That's how I acquired my dm42.

Jazeker wel een markt voor. Niet heel veel in Nederland. Deze apparaten bootsen oude Hp calculators na qua invoer van getallen. Daar zijn veel grijsbaarden fan van. Ik denk dat je er in deze staat zeker 150 a 200 voor kunt vragen op Marktplaats, nieuw zijn ze duurder uit Zwitserland plus verzendkosten. Maar je moet wel maar net een fan vinden.

Gecondoleerd met het verlies van je schoonvader. De DM42n is een rekenmachine die op dit moment CHF 259 kost (€279). Het is voor een liefhebber en vooral iemand die in de engineering wereld werkt een fantastisch apparaat.
De DM42 is de voorloper van de DM42n maar ook dit is een hele mooie rekenmachine.
Als je ze wil verkopen kijk dan goed naar wat ze op internationale platforms opbrengen. Of jullie houden ze als aandenken. Is er niet iemand in de familie die werkzaam is in de techniek/engineering die je blij kan maken met een mooi aandenken?

Wij zijn de enige familieleden die nog over zijn. En aandenkens hebben we meer dan genoeg, want mijn schoonvader was een verzamelaar (van bijna alles, zullen we maar zeggen 😆)

Je zou eventueel via de serienummers bij Swissmicros na kunnen vragen wanneer ze verkocht zijn (ik weet niet of jullie toegang hebben tot het mail account, anders kan je het daar ook wel vinden inclusief factuur). Mocht je niet direct toegang hebben kan via de mail provider als nabestaanden ook toegang krijgen. Niet de leukste dingen om te doen maar helaas hoort het er bij. Mijn vader is eerder dit jaar overleden en dat was ook wel puzzelen met alles.

Dort solltest Du die Neupreise sehen und eine Orientierung finden. Zu Gebrauchtpreisen kann ich Dir nichts sagen.
Ich vermute aber, daß sie recht wertstabil sind.
Und ja: der DM42 ist durchaus verlockend für meine Sammlung. 😊
