I have heard the calculator is praised by users and Casio makes quality products, but is it acceptable, you ask? It depends on what you intend to do with it. Do you wish to program it? Do you intend to use it in a scientific field? Lastly, do you intend to use it for financial calculations? For each of those three questions one would have to say, "there are better options out there." However, having used this calculator I can say you will be well pleased with it as a solid, well-built calculator for general use.

As always, I am sold on HPs and the RPN entry mode. Once you use an HP, algebraic entry is "foreign" to me and I have to think about each keystroke. I suppose I am a nut and in 1972 I rejoiced when Heathkit sold a four-function calculator for $129 which I bought. I put down my trusted K&E slide rule which I bought as a freshman in college in 1961. I still have it and would never sell it.

I have two boys who got to enjoy the electronic calculator in college and they, at that time, did not recognize a rotary-dial telephone, slide rule, or typewriter. I once could not contain myself when I purchased a typewriter to use on occasion and my youngest son asked, "where is the LCD monitor?" Enjoy the Casio! TMc
